Subject: Report on the University Cafeteria Respected Sir, Introduction: As a student of your university, I have observedved many complaints from the students about the bad working of the university canteen. I visited the canteen and prepared a report for its reformation. Responses to the survey were summarized into the following seven themes: • Variety of Foods •Access to and Quality of Healthy Foods • An Inability to Access Dietary Needs • Quality of Service • Greater Emphasis on Sustainability • Cost • Diverse Food Requests The report found that 97% of the Trent community is unsatisfied with the current food service, 2.5% offered “no comment”, and 0.5% offered positive comments. Access to quality healthy foods, variety of foods, and the cost of food at Trent were the top three issues. Further, Trent University’s peer institutions have found solutions to these common problems to create food services that cater to the needs of the campus. The report includes twelve recommendations for the improvement of food services at Trent University, with the ultimate goal of creating food services that meet the needs of students and increase campus-wide satisfaction. These recommendations have been drafted with consultations from food service professionals, food justice advocates, and food producers. Discussion The proprietor of the canteen is a man with harsh tongue and irritatable temper. He does not listen to the complaints which the students lodge to him against the bad quality of foodstuff. He is always harsh on them. He charges high but supplies bad stuff. I happened to drink a glass of milk there and found that it was very thin and it gave a strange smell. The service of the canteen staff is very poor. The students have to wait for a long time for the fulfilment of their orders. Moreover, The canteen does not contain comfortable and modern furniture. Tables and chairs are very old. Some of them need repair immediately. They are not dusted properly. Conclusion: The working of the college canteen is far from satisfactory. Recommendations: Our cafeteria is in a very alarming state, indeed. The authority needs to pay attention to this matter. I have devised a few suggestions that may help you in this matter. The authority can hold a peaceful, and friendly meeting with the parents. The parents should be informed that the authority had no knowledge of this problem. The university authority should apologize to them, and also thank them for letting them know about the problem. This would surely cool down the parents for awhile. In the meantime, we can also change the salesman and fine him for selling stale food items. I hope these recommendations will be of any help to you. You are requested to solve this problem, as soon as possible. Suggestions: It is suggested that the control of the university canteen should be given to a body of hardworking teachers. That body should visit the canteen off and on and check the quality of the food-stuff. It should also keep an eye on the conduct of the canteen staff. The proprietor of the canteen should be advised to behave properly and politely with the students.
