1. Which are the stages of a didactic sequence?

• Opening stage activities

• Development stage activities
• Closing stage activities

2. Which are some characteristics of the didactic sequence?

• A didactic sequence is a group of learning activities set in a specific order which

takes into account the student's progress.
• It is planned to set up a problem, task, or Project by using and integrating activity,
which is carried out through the course. During more than one lesson to fulfill the goals set.
• Firstly, the didactic sequence must set the stages and according to them work out
them with the information gathered through the following sessions.
• Feedback during these stages is very meaningful to guide the students, as well as,
for the teacher to organize the following stage or redirect the plan.
• The formative assessment is the main goal during the development of the didactic
sequence.

3. What is the purpose of the opening stage activities?

To activate schemata by using questions to recover the previous knowledge. Then, set up
the context to link the new knowledge. By using techniques like; brainstorming, interviews,
newspaper, searching on the internet, and the most powerful tool through videos or
multimedia means, which activates visual and auditory learning styles.

4. What is the purpose of the development stage activities?

During this stage we as teachers set how we can help the learners to link their previous
knowledge with the new one or ones. As result, learners scaffold their learning by using the
concepts learned.
The learners build up their structure and conceptualization to understand better the topic
presented. For this reason, learners reorganize and restructure their information through
their presentation about the topic, using the powerful capabilities from videos and using
wondering questions that set a problem. Then through group work and discussions groups
they share and find answers to the problem set before.

5. What is the purpose of the closing stage activities?

To fulfill the goal of integrating the whole of the tasks carried out from the news
questioning guided by the teacher. As well, as with their classmates with the information
obtained. Practicing in pairs or groups the knowledge acquired, is a great opportunity to
promote formative assessment to learners.

6. What are some important aspects of evaluation?

Providing feedback during the formative assessment where learners and teachers can
reflect on the task completed is a very meaningful tool to help the learner to learn with
meaningful ideas and knowledge.

On the other hand, rubrics and portfolios are very useful to take into consideration but not
as summative assessments or a grade to register. These tools are representative to help the
learners to reflect and reorganize their structures to gather knowledge and find out
strategies to do it.
