Name: Arenas, Omar Antonio G. Date: Oct. 14, 2022

Course/Year/Section: BSED II - C Subject: Educ. 2

Critical Questions: Reflect and right your answers to the following questions.

1. How can we help develop expert teachers?

As well all know, teachers are the "standard" of the society. Wherein the
society is looking them up as a better and enhanced professional and expert on
their chosen tracks. Bust as they say, we cannot achieve something without
passing to all of the hindrances through out to our way on achieving something.
Expert teacher, a phrase that is very powerful. But how can we help develop
expert teachers. We can help them by finding a mentor teacher who can connect
with that new teacher, someone with teaching experiences, who is admirable,
knowledgeable, and capable as a teacher. By this way, we can help a teacher by
becoming an expert one. Also, we can give them seminars and meetings that is
interesting and eye-catching. And the goal is improving and enhancing the
teachers to become expert. And lastly, we can help teachers to become an expert
one is by acknowledging and respecting them as their learner.

2. What are the factors that have contributed to the mediocrity of teaching
profession in the Philippines?

The factors that have contributed the mediocrity of teaching profession in the
Philippines are the pay, benefits, and working conditions. It is proved to be some
of the most critical factors affecting teachers' occupational status and self-
esteem. We all know that payment of the teachers is not enough to repay their
efforts and tiredness from working or doing their obligations. Also, the benefits
that teachers have to day are not also good enough. Yes, we may say that they
have many benefits but is not yet enough. They need more attention on this area.
Lastly, teachers also suffering from the work condition they have. Like having no

air ventilation, unorganized classroom, improper or worthless materials for
teaching, broken bridges, classroom, and so on. This are just assumptions and
what I noticing.

3. Identity a expert teacher. Set an interview with him or her. What made
him/her as an expert teacher? What lesson can be learned from his or her life as
a expert teacher?

Most of the time, sir Melvin Ramil is one of the most expert teacher that I
encountered during my high school days. Why? Because the way he teach his
students, the way how he can easily connect with his students, and the way he
approach his students is very professional to the point that we look up him a one
of our "standards." He is an expert teacher because of his past experiences in
teaching, meaning to say. He is teaching in a long time that somehow he knows
students very well. To the point that he knows what is need to do and how it to
be done. The lesson that I learned from his life as a expert teacher is having
strong connection towards to the students and know who and what is your
students. Buy this factors, you will somehow know what to do and how it will be
done to teach students and being a expert teacher. Lastly, having patience and
eagerness in teaching are also a factors that I learned from him to become a
expert and professional teacher.
