This study aims to determine the significant relationship between the perceived difficulty on specialized
subject and the stress level experienced by Grade 12 STEM students in Malvar Senior High School.

efficacy, and deep and surface approach to learning and (Skaalvik et al. 2018) Mathematics anxiety and
coping strategies among middle school students: relations with students’ achievement goal orientations
and level of performance
- Synthesis - Einar M. Skaalvik, (2018) he indicates that the link between achievement goal
orientation and coping mechanisms cannot be entirely explained by the effect of achievement
goals on anxiety, despite the fact that achievement goal orientations in math classes are
predictive of math anxiety. While Dmitri Rozgonjuk, Tiina Kraav, Kristel Mikkor, Kerli Orav-
Puurand & Karin Täht (2020) found that raising students' mathematical self-efficacy might also be
useful in lowering mathematics fear. Due to the cross-sectional nature of the current study, it is
also possible that decreasing students.

Academic Stress and Coping Strategies of Filipino College Students in Private and Public Universities in
Central Luzon
- Synthesis – (Austria-Cruz et al. 2019) Discussion on the most practical adaptation to preventing
excessive stress in students should be done by training them to improve their analytical skills in
situational settings. Solving both complex and simple problems. Teachers may constantly assist
students in developing a harmonious and professional relationship with them. Previous research
has linked a mastery goal orientation to adaptive learning strategies (e.g., help seeking behavior
and deep processing), whereas a performance-avoidance goal orientation is linked to less
adaptive learning strategies. This study confirms and expands on previous research by
demonstrating that a mastery goal orientation predicts adaptive coping strategies after failure,
whereas a performance-avoidance goal orientation predicts self-protective but maladaptive
strategies.

Boado et al, 2013) FACTORS INFLUENCING THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN PHYSICS OF
DMMMSU- MLUC LABORATORY HIGH SCHOOL FOURTH YEAR STUDENTS S.Y. 2011-2012
- Synthesis - More than one-third of all college students report experiencing stress that impacted
their academic performance in the previous academic year (Morey et al. & Taylor et al. 2019),
which may cause a lot of undergraduates. (2020) (Adebisi et al.) The pressure to succeed makes
the academic environment stressful. Excessive stress has been shown in studies to impair
academic performance and lead to dropout. (Mangaoang-Boado et al, 2013) According to the
findings, students will perform better in Physics if they perform better in English and Mathematics,
have a positive attitude toward Physics, and have good study habits. GPA in Math had the
greatest impact on academic performance in Physics among the variables.

is a lack of well-equipped laboratories, as well as poor teaching methods, similar to the study of

among Indian High School Students and ( Sasuya et al. 2019) Academic Stress On The Academic
Performance in General Physics 1 of Grade 12 STEM Students of Cabuyao Integrated National High
School
- Synthesis - Examinations, subject difficulty, too many contents in a lesson, and making decisions
about tertiary education were the top causes of academic stress (Dapaynos et al., Butala et al., &
Atompag et al. 2021). Furthermore, results showed that Grade 10 and 12 students with lower
grades experienced a higher level of stress than those with higher grades, indicating that there is
a high level of academic stress and exam anxiety. Some students experience academic
psychological problems as a result of academic stress, such as academic pressure, academic
anxiety, academic conflict, and academic frustration in school-related activities. (Austria- Cruz et
al. 2019) The respondents' subject-related academic stress, Requirements completion received
the highest weighted mean (3.68) with a verbal interpretation of the most likely source of stress
This implies that subject-related academic stress can be a factor in students' depression. Levels
of stress that can lead to absenteeism or feelings of helplessness and hopelessness that
impedes effective study habits. Academic achievement is then weakened even further. The
writers in concluded that academic stress not only hinders academic performance, but also an
adaptation to a larger extent. (Deb et al., Strodl et al., Sun et al. 2015) In the current study, 81.6%
of the students, particularly female students from Bengali medium schools who are not proficient
in English, reported examination-related anxiety. Gender was also discovered to be significantly
related to exam-related anxiety and psychiatric caseness. That is, female students have higher
levels of exam-related anxiety and psychiatric caseness than male students. (Sasuya et al. 2019)
Academic stress arises when there is a perception of overwhelming pressure on the students,
which interferes with their academic success. Stress afflicts students' physical health, emotional
welfare, and academic performance. Students develop a nonchalant attitude towards their studies
because of stress.

- Synthesis – (Abad et al., Barit et al., Capacio et al., Delfin et al., Iglip. 2017) discusses the various
stressors that accounting students face, as well as their various approaches to dealing with them.
(Skaalvik et al. 2018) Two coping strategies were investigated in this study: an adaptive problem-
focused strategy focused on attempting to understand the problem and determining what went
wrong, and a maladaptive self-protective strategy focused on concealing one's results and math
problems.
