Network & Security Support Engineer

Gyrocom (now part of the Kerv Group) is a networking and security company. We support digital
transformation initiatives with secure, automated and simple to manage solutions for the data
centre, branch office and cloud. We provide our customers with the answers to real-world
business challenges through the effective and considered deployment of technology and its
supporting processes. Our services and solutions portfolio focuses on network and security
technologies, transforming the data centre and branch architecture to better support the
demands of digital transformation. We currently have a position for an experienced Third Line
Network & Security Support Engineer to become part of our highly talented Support Team.

You’ll have at least 3-4yrs experience as a Network & Security Support Engineer (Level-3) who is
comfortable triaging tickets at level-3 and working across both networking and security
technologies such as SDWAN, OSPF, BGP, firewall policy definition, web access and filtering and
cloud security.

It is beneficial that you have experience of vendor technologies such as Fortinet, Velocloud,
Silverpeak and Cisco. Any other vendor knowledge is highly advantageous and vendor training
will be provided to fill in any technical gaps.

Responsibilities

You will work as part of a team responsible for network and security infrastructure operations and
support across our customer’s network environments, performing tasks such as dealing with
network and security incidents, service requests and change requests. You will also:

 Be methodical when approaching technical issues


 Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation
 Provide technical guidance to team mates where required
 Interface professionally with external clients via telephone and email
 Work flexible start times to cover customer requirements
 Be on an out of hours on-call rota and cover changes

Soft skills are also important for this role and the appropriate candidate will be proficient in the
following areas:

 Information gathering and document production (LLD, implementation, change requests)


 Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
 Time management and prioritisation

Qualifications:

The role requires at least 3-4yrs experience as a Network & Security Support Engineer (Level-3)
with expertise in:

 Security Technologies (Fortinet NSE-3 and above essential)


 Advanced Routing & Switching (CCNA and above essential)
 SDWAN (Silverpeak-DST or VMware Deploy & Manage preferred)
 ITIL Foundation (preferred)
