Guide for the Interview of the Resource Teacher

Name of the Resource Teacher: Mr. Eladio N. Mortega, Jr.

Grade/Year Level: Grade 10 Subjects handled: Araling Panlipunan 10, KONTEMPORARYONG
ISYU
Years in Service: 32 years of service
Guide Questions:
1. What is the most effective classroom discipline strategy you have applied in your class/es?
One of the most effective classroom discipline strategy, I have applied, I am much more on the cleanliness
and orderliness of this classroom. So, we have already the school policy in promoting a zero-waste
classroom, the BASURA MO, DARA MO, TANGOD KO, LINIG KO, meaning, students should bring their
piece of waste to their homes. Likewise, when it comes to attendance, I make sure that before the class
starts, everyone must be present at all times, nevertheless absent, unless if there is an excuse letter with
a valid reason.
2. Do you allow your students participate in making the classroom rules? Can you describe the process? If not,
how did you come up with your classroom rules?
First things first, I have already an agreement on which my students signed of they are following the
classroom rules and regulations, and the whole school, too. Parang kasi ang terms and conditions if they
read and understand the whole guidelines if they are promised to follow.
3. How do you maintain good behavior in your classroom? How do you motivate your students?
As an adviser of this class, I can also make sure that the learner understands the discussion. Ask learners
what they think they need to do. I just have to give my thoughts on how to improve in the future. Besides,
pag may mga problema, syempre, I will just allow students to express their thoughts and opinions on the
topic publicly, without judging them based on how bad their answers are.

B. Answer the following questions:

1. How many strategies were employed by the resource teacher? Did these contribute to
better classroom management? Explain your answer.
Several of the strategies were employed, since this will contribute to better classroom
management, since there is open communication about an expression of their thoughts,
without judgments, and where there is positive classroom management, perhaps positive
motivation, students are more eager to learn more.

2. Which specific behavior strategies do you think were effective in the grade level you
were assigned to do an observation?
I think, the use of a positive and a meaningful feedback would be effective, since I
have to ensure that the learner understands the lesson, or I am willing to help them
passionately. Contact with students allows to interact with them and understand
their feelings and emotions and can find out if they are learning, and instructions
must be adjusted.

Activity 3: Management of Time, Space, and Resources

A. Instruction: Draw the structure of and set-up in the classroom. Make sure to indicate the areas
for specific purposes (e.g. storage of teaching aids, books, students’ belongings, supplies,
demo table, teacher’s and students’ table and chair, etc.)

B. Answer the following questions:

1. Describe the areas found in the classroom. Will it make a difference if these areas for
specific purposes are not present?
At the back of the classroom, there has compiled modules in a stack, likewise, there are
more chairs that can be occupied by many. Yes, there will be a difference if other
stakeholders can help to donate materials and also for electricfans in need of well
ventilation. Bulletin boards can be improved also.

2. How did the teacher manage time, space, and resources?

The teacher managed the time, space, and resources in setting the goal to prioritize the
important tasks to do, namely, establishing the clear purpose and expectations. Also
setting rules can help him easier to manage his class and to achieve the learning
outcomes.

Reflection Questions:

1. Imagine yourself organizing your classroom in the future. In what grade level do you see
yourself? What routines and procedures would you consider for this level? Why?
As I imagine myself, I seemed that I am at Grade 9 level, I would consider disciplinary
measures, for instance, once I have entered the room, I have to make sure that everything
must be clean and in order, and that everybody is present here, and to remind the
students to drop everything that is not needed for our subject. So that the students can
indeed also practice self-control and discipline at all times. It is not a good example that
the students who are behaving wildly in class.

2. What does this statement mean to you as a future teacher? Explain.

“No amount of good instruction will come out without effective classroom management”
For me, as a future teacher, it is not a bed of roses that you can hardly teach lessons
without effective classroom management. Accordingly, a successful classroom has to be
designed. Everything was completed, including meeting the learning objectives for each
course and managing time honestly and with regard to time constraints, and also help to
maintain peace in the classroom and exhibit civility and decency. This reduces the
student's failure to obey rules or instructions.

3. What are your plans for ensuring effective classroom management (including time, space,
and resources)? Briefly discuss your answer.
One of my plans for ensuring an effective classroom management, is that I would like to
say, Raise your hand if you have something to say, or rather, permission to speak,
because I want respect and courtesy observed at all times. Likewise, before asking the
Lord before the class, will have a spontaneous praying or an opening prayer.
