Lesson Plan

Class: Nine Subject: Computer Science Total time: hrs


Topic: Lesson 6 (Introduction to Computer Graphics) Theme (if any):
Major Learning Outcomes:
 Students will develop the concept of graphics.
 Students will outline the different applications of graphic software.
 Students will extend the knowledge about different types of graphics file format.
 Students will know about the Graphic processing Unit and the basic requirement for it.
 Student will create a concept about Graphic Editing Software such as Adobe Photoshop.
 Students will compare and contrast between raster image and vector image.
 Students will explore different tools used in Adobe Photoshop and their purpose.
 Students will extend the knowledge regarding different terms of graphics such as pixel, resolution,
resampling, resizing, file size, pixel dimension, printed image resolution etc.
 Students will extend their knowledge of various tools by creating a graphics image using Photoshop
tools.
Materials Required:
 Reference pictures  PowerPoint Slides
 Videos for reference  Loose sheets
 Internet and Computer  Adobe Photoshop
Handouts and text support
 PDF files, videos for different projects will be uploaded in google classroom.
Sequential outline of classroom activities
DAY 1
Class will be conducted in Computer Lab
Engagement: Time: 40 mins
 Teacher will demonstrate students how to open Adobe Photoshop in their system.
 After that teacher will ask students to look for different tools present in tool bar.
 Then teacher will ask student to create a new blank file and start drawing any image that they would
like to draw by using various tools.

 Teacher will demonstrate how to save their drawings as PSD format file.
Exploration: Time: 10 mins
 Teacher will tell students to find out how many tools that they used for drawing and for what purpose
did they use that tools.
 Teacher will select students randomly and ask them.
Explanation: Time: 10 mins
 Teacher will elaborate the concept of layers in Adobe Photoshop. As a transparent, they are like a
separate sheet of paper arranged in a sequence to create an exceptional image.

DAY 2:
Class will be conducted in Class room
Explanation: Time: 30 mins
 Teacher will use slide to explain different concept of graphics. Such as:
o Definition of graphics
o Types of graphics file
 Raster Image
 Vector Image
 Metafile Image
o Understanding different files formats:
 Web Production Formats
 JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
 GIF (Graphic Interchange Format)
 PNG ( Portable Network Graphics)
 Print Production Formats
 PSD (Photoshop Document)
 TIF (Tagged Image File Format)
 PDF (Portable Document Format)

 Teacher will make students do the class assignment to draw and write the functions of Selection
Tools.

DAY 3:
(Class will be conducted in Computer lab)
Explanation: Time: 10 mins
 Teacher will relate the use of different tools such as move tools, selection tool, transform selection
options etc.
Exploration: Time: 40 mins
 Teacher will assign students a practical assignment in Google Classroom to prepare a sandwich.
 Student will follow the given instruction and upload their work in Google Classroom.

DAY 4:

 Teacher will assign students a practical assignment of clone stamp tool.
 Teacher will demonstrate how to use clone stamp tool.
 Teacher will ask students to download image and us clone stamp tool to create a new image

downloaded from the internet and upload in Google Classroom.
