ONLINE BOOKSTORE

Introduction:-
Nowadays, the network plays an import role in people’s life. In the process
of the improvement of the people’s living standard, people’s demands of
the life’s quality and efficiency is more higher, the traditional bookstore’s
inconvenience gradually emerge, and the online bookstore has gradually be
used in public. The online bookstore is a revolution of book industry. The
traditional bookstores’ operation time, address and space is limited, so the
types of books and books to find received a degree of restriction. But the
online bookstore broke the management mode of traditional bookstore, as
long as you have a computer, you can buy the book anywhere, saving time
and effort, shortening the time of book selection link effectively. The online
bookstore system based on the principle of provides convenience and
service to people. An online book is a resource in book-like form that is
only available to read on the Internet. It differs from the common idea of
an e-book, which is usually available for users to download and read locally
on a computer, smartphone or on an e-reader. "Book-like" means:
information is presented in a page format; pages are normally available to
read sequentially (though "flipping" to another page is possible using a
mouse, keyboard or other controllers); and pages are read passively, with
little or no interaction or multimedia. "Online" means the content may only
be read while the reader is connected to the Internet.

Aims and Benefits:-

 Customers can get their book delivered instead of actually going and
buying the book. They can make payment online itself.
 Managing of inventory in the shop for shopkeeper becomes easier as
customers are not visiting and ordering online.
 This system saves both time and travelling cost of customers.
 User can get to know different kinds of books that they were unaware of
by just searching in the system using keywords.
Course Outcomes Integrated :-
1. It reduces the time as well as physical energy.
2.We can get to know about unknown book by searching names.
3.we can search books by name of author.
4.There is no limited books in online bookstore.

Actual Procedure Followed :-

Suppose you want to buy a book from an online bookstore or find a book on the
shelf in a brick-and-mortar store, but you cańt remember the complete title. You
can look it up by entering the author’s name or the subject. Books matching the
criteria will be listed on the screen. You are able to find the book you are
interested in because of metadata.

Skill Developed/Learning out of this Micro-Project:-

In today’s digital era, people spend a significant amount of time online.
Whether they are looking for entertainment, information or to shop, smart devices
and computers are a convenient ‘go-to’ for the modern customer – and with the
current COVID-19 situation, this trend is gathering even more momentum.
Consider your own purchasing habits. With the simple click of a button, it’s so
easy to order food and stream movies online from the comfort of your own home,
especially during the current social distancing restrictions. Bookstores are no
exception to this growing trend. While brick-and-mortar stores will always have
their place, expanding your store to include an online shop may be a wise decision
to help you adapt and thrive in this evolving market. Your retail bookstore has a
limited amount of space to hold and display certain book titles, which can restrict
your readers’ choices. However, having an online database allows you to offer a
wider range of titles and increase their exposure to all the stock you have.
Purchasing from an online bookstore will give readers the benefit of having their
precious books delivered to them directly at home. This lowers the challenges of
having to physically get to your store and back. Purchasing from an online

Conclusion:-
The Internet has become a major resource in modern business, thus electronic
shopping has gained significance not only from the entrepreneur’s but also from
the customer’s point of view. For the entrepreneur, electronic shopping generates
new business opportunities and for the customer, it makes comparative shopping
possible. As per a survey, most consumers of online stores are impulsive and
usually make a decision to stay on a site within the first few seconds. “Website
design is like a shop interior. If the shop looks poor or like hundreds of other
shops the customer is most likely to skip to the other site”
