Two failures, one for modem and the other baud rate are
normal if loop back wiring to these pins are not
connected

̈ Serial Port Test Troubleshooting
First, make sure that you don’t have two serial ports
configured with the same hardware interrupt
Also make sure that you don’t have any network cards or
other cards configured for the COM1: or COM2:
interrupts (Usually IRQ 4 and 3, respectively)

̈ Common POST Visual Error Messages
CMOS battery failed The CMOS battery is no longer functional.
FLASH/HARD DISK Cannot find or initialize the hard drive controller or the drive.
INSTALL FAILURE Make sure the controller is installed correctly. If no hard drives
are installed, be sure the Hard Drive selection in Setup is set to
NONE.
Keyboard error or no Cannot initialize the keyboard. Make sure the keyboard is
Keyboard present attached correctly and no keys are pressed during POST. To
purposely configure the system without a keyboard, set the error
halt condition in Setup to HALT ON ALL, BUT KEYBOARD. The
BIOS then ignores the missing keyboard during POST.
Memory test fail If POST detects an error during memory testing, additional
information appears giving specifics about the type and location
of the memory error.

1. Unscrew 4 wires from the
terminator on the keyboard
encoder board.
2. Remove 2 screws for Touch
controller cable.
3. Remove 2 mounting screws for
Touch controller. Remove cable
connector from the back of the
touch controller that goes to the
touch screen. 3
4. Remove 2 screws to release the
backlight inverter from the
mounting bracket.
5. Remove 4 inverter connectors
coming from the LCD.
1. Once the Touch controller and the Backlight inverter are removed, remove 8
screws and remove the LCD panel.
2. Once the panel is removed, remove 4 screws holding the LCD in place.
