 Computer's
A computer is a digital electronic machine that can be programmed to carry out sequences of arithmetic or
logical operations automatically data is processed according to instructions given to it in a variable
program.

Types of devices connected to computer

1. Input devices
2. Output devices

 Input devices
an input device is a piece of equipment used to provide data and control signals to an information
processing system, such as a computer or information appliance .
Examples for input devices

1) Mouse

2) Keyboard

 Output devices
An output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment which converts information into a human-
perceptible form or, historically, into a physical machine-readable form for use with other non-computerized
equipment. It can be text, graphics, tactile, audio, or video.

Examples for output devices

 Soldering

Soldering is used to form a permanent connection between electronic

components. The metal to be soldered is heated with a soldering iron and then
solder is melted into the connection. Only the solder melts, not the parts that
are being soldered.

 Networking devices
A network device is an individual component of the network that participates at
one or more of the protocol layers. This includes end devices, routers,
switches, DSUs, hubs, and NICs. Network devices have characteristics that
can be measured.

1) Hub :- A network hub is a node that broadcasts data to every computer or Ethernet-based
device connected to it. A hub is less sophisticated than a switch, the latter of which can
isolate data transmissions to specific devices. Network hubs are best suited for small,
simple local area network (LAN) environments.

2) Switches :- A network switch connects users, applications, and equipment across a network
so that they can communicate with one another and share resources. The simplest network
switches offer connectivity exclusively to devices on a single local-area network (LAN).

3) Routers :- A router is a physical or virtual appliance that passes information between two or
more packet-switched computer networks. A router inspects a given data packet's
destination Internet Protocol address (IP address), calculates the best way for it to reach its
destination and then forwards it accordingly.
