ENGLISH TERM-II ASSESSMENT OF PROJECT & VIVA


CLASS XII- Group Project
TOPIC: UNSOLVED MYSTERIES
Term II: 10 Marks: Project & Project portfolio + Viva Voice
Project & Project Portfolio: 5 Marks
Viva: 5 Marks
Project:
1. The projects are considered as ASL based projects.
2. The Project can be inter-disciplinary in theme. The ideas/issues
highlighted in the chapters/ poems/ drama given in the prescribed books
can also be developed in the form of a project. Students can also take up
any age appropriate theme.
3. Choose topics that may be taken up that provide students with
opportunities for listening and speaking.
Instructions:
 Prepare a Podcast – 15-20 minutes
 Students can choose a topic on which he/she can do their research/
interview/ discus or the interview itself. This can also be Listening to
podcasts/ interviews/radio or a TV documentary on a topic and
preparing a discussion video countering or agreeing with the speakers.
 The podcast (Audio) must be about the topic highlighting the
concern/opinions/ research/ current scenario/ future plans/
objectives/ alternate solutions/ suggestions etc.
 The students can also create innovative ideas to present their projects
using technology and creativity.
To be followed:
This will be a project which will be done as a team. It will involve planning,
preparation and presentation.
In short, various language skills will be utilised. There will be researching,
discussion, writing the script, auditioning and ultimately producing the
result.
The project will end with a presentation and subsequently a viva.
This is to assess the core language skills of the students and help them grow
as 21st century critical thinkers.
Project Portfolio:
1. Cover page, with title of project, school details, details of the students
or the team.
2. Statement of purpose/ objective/ goal
3. Certificate of completion under the guidance of the teacher
4. Action plan for the completion of the assigned task
5. Material od Evidence: An essay/ write up/script etc. up to 1000 words
on his/her project (survey reports/questionnaires if any) also need to
be included.
6. The students will also write a report (500 words) about the process,
limitations, challenges, discussions and overall experience.
7. Student self-reflection
8. Student peer reflection
9. If possible, photographs that capture the positive learning experiences
of the student(s).
10. List of resources/bibliography.
