INTRODUCTION:

● Gases are used on over daily basis


● Gases are used in houses , restaurant,factories,hotel etc
● If a gas leakage problem is occurred it can cause disasters like fire
explosion and death.
● The number of death due to gas leakages has been increasing in recent
years.
● This paper presents gas leakage detection and alerting system to
prevent such fire accidents.
OBJECTIVE:

● The main objective of our system is to detect gas leakage and alert the user.
● Incase of gas leakage the system will produce an alert noice and a warning
will be displayed on the LCD display.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:

● Arduino uno is the main unit of the system.


● The output from the gas sensor (MQ6 ) is provided as the input to the arduino uno
● The detection results are displayed on the LCD display.
● To indicate the people about the gas leakage buzzer activity with the beep sound is made.
Components required:

ARDUINO UNO

Arduino uno is a microcontroller.It has 14


inputs/ output.

MQ6

MQ 6 can detect gas concentrations


anywhere from 200 to 10000ppm.
BUZZER

A buzzer or a beeper is audio signalling


device.

CONCLUSION:

● This project can conclude that the detection of gas leakage was successful.
● This system is applicable in houses,hotels etc
● The sensor node senses gases like LPG, CO2 , Alcohol etc
● Simple procedures and Arduino uno is used in this system.
FUTURE ENHANCEMENT:

● A GSM module can be used to send the alert messages to the users mobile
phone.
● Incase of gas leakage the gas supply can be automatically shutdown.
● The exhaust fan can be automatically turned on incase of gas leakage
● The location of gas leakage can be detected
● During gas leakge the power supply can be cut off to prevent the causage of
fire accidents.
