This survey indicates I am bodily kinesthetic learner. I like learning skills for some sports which
includes cricket and football. I love to challenge other teams to play a game of cricket and football in
contest to win. I am visual learner as I learn effectively by watching videos. looking at pictures and
other educational informative which includes charts and graphs. This helps me to picture things in
my mind which makes my memory retention strong. I am also logical and mathematical learner
as I love solving mathematical problems and operations, without using calculator.

Which learning tools and teaching methods do you enjoy the most? Give reasons for your answer.

I enjoy watching visuals which includes images, charts and short videos on projector as it catches my
attention and helps me to be focused in classrooms. I also enjoy solving mathematical operations on Internet
including algebra and quadratics as it helps me to practice for my mathematical assessments. Other than this, I
also love to watch documentaries on YouTube for my assessments. I like to watch short videos on YouTube
for learning techniques and certain skills to play any sport. I also watch videos on YouTube for solving some
mathematical operations and problems. Beside this, I love to play sports games as this helps me to be active
and remain fit.

Which learning methods do you least like, and why?

I least like reading books because I have poor reading skills and I find it difficult to have my attention.

Sometimes, reading is very difficult for me when, word usage and language used is very advanced. I am
also, uninterested sometimes, when I read books of not my interest. Also, I get distracted easily sometimes by
noise and crowd which is why I least like reading.

It is important that you base your evaluation on examples. For example, if you believe you
are excellent at reading, what kind of reading material are you basing this on, why is this
so and how would you demonstrate this ability?

I tried to meet my reading goals. I used to preview summary of
Reading the book and analyse the text in detail to ensure I develop
effective understanding, within my given time limit for reading
some texts. I like to read fictional stories. At the same time, I
kept my phone on silent so, I can focus on my reading.
I have ranked myself 3 in this skill as my note taking is ranked
Note-taking as moderate. I tried to organise my notes properly in a file
according to the dates. I think I can achieve 4 or 5 in this skill by
using colors and symbols for note-taking assessment to make
my note taking skill well-organized. I best like to take notes for
mathematics, geography and world history.
Writing I have marked myself 3 in this skill as I feel I am average in this
skill. I can understand my writing while, some teachers advise
me to improve my writing as I write while, joining some letters.
Although to some people my writing confuses therefore, I think
I should improve my writing skills.
I used to pay attention in classes to ensure, I listened and

At start of any activity, I always plan and organise equipment

develop team coordination skills and presentation skills. I also
have improved my writing skills for efficient writing.
To develop my time management skill, I ensured I follow
Time Management SMART objectives which proved to be efficient as it provided
me a sense of direction, focus and motivation to aim for a goal. I
also used to meet my deadlines for submissions.
I have not developed my IT skills further as I already knew how
IT Skills to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop
and Adobe AutoCAD. Other than these applications, I felt I
don’t need to learn new applications as, these applications are
used in most of the assignments. Besides this, I revised my
Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Excel skills as these
applications will be useful to me in my university studies.

What are the Learning Outcomes for Topic 2?

To be able to take notes effectively for every subject using textbooks. To be able to summarise my content
and will learn understanding about different learning styles. I should also learn how to present yourself
well in presentation and how to do note-taking effectively by using different note taking methods for eg.
Cornell method, sentence method, outline method and others. I should be able to describe a plan
and make an outline for essay writing.

What I achieved/didn’t achieve in Topic 2 and why. What examples can I give as evidence of this?
I achieved my note taking skills as I learned some new note taking methods which I was not aware of.
This achievement was beneficial for me as I was able to take my notes effectively for most of the subjects I
study and will help me with my future studies. Despite this, my reading needs improvement as I read
and skim through reading passages slowly as my reading speed is quite slow.

Skills I used in Topic 2.
I used note-taking skills. I learned new note taking methods which I was not aware of which includes; the
Cornell method, Mapping method and Charting method. I also used organisation skills to organise my
notes in a proper file, according to the date. For organisation, I used different colors for Headings to make
my headings look different from the main body text. I also ensured I write my heading with blue color and
the notes with black color to make my notes look different from the headings.

Reasons why I think I was successful / unsuccessful.

I was successful because I was active in my classes and ready for my assessments. This provided me a
sense to achieve my note taking and presentation skills. I always asked my teacher for advices and made
improvements gradually. I also made sure my attendance was best and I didn’t miss my classes.

Changes/improvements I need to make. How will these changes benefit me?
I need to practice note taking skills at home using, variety of note taking methods as this practice will
prepare me for SCS task B. Not only this, it will prepare me in future for accounting as, I am planning to
become an accountant, who uses note taking skill to record the data of a business organisation and he
evaluates the performance of a business based on the data collected but he uses different note-taking
methods where, he is required to record the data of a business organisation in a table.

I should be able to learn how to take clear while, short notes which are understandable and readable from
a lecture. I should also gain knowledge about different learning strategies and how to prepare for a
lecture. I should acquire knowledge about how to organise and summarise your notes. I should be able to
learn how to use your notes for presentation as we make cue cards for reference. Moreover, I should learn
different styles of note taking.

What I achieved/didn’t achieve in Topic 3 and why. What examples can I give as evidence of this?
I achieved graphical method for note taking as, our teacher showed us some contents and we had to take
notes. I used a graphical method where, I made a graphical representation for my notes. I also learned
how to listen effectively and retrieve the information in my notes. I also learned sentence method and
outline method. Despite this, I didn’t achieve Cornell method as I thought it didn’t best fitted and was time
taking note taking method.

Skills I used in Topic 3.
In particular, I used note taking and presentation skills. I learned we always present our notes in a way,
reader can read and understand your notes. This technique is beneficial for me to prepare for my note
taking assessment. Also, note taking skill will help me to learn through my notes for my other
examinations. At the same time, I should do listening for gist activity as, this activity will help me a lot for
my note taking assessment.

I think I was successful in this activity as I learned different note taking methods and was able to write a
summary, based on my understanding gained. Also, I learned organizational skills as I learned how to
organise, arrange your notes properly in a proper format and in a file, making sure, you arrange it
according to the date.

Changes/improvements I need to make. How will these changes benefit me?
I think I need to develop more confidence for giving out my presentations because sometimes, I
become nervous by looking at the crowd who, try to create a problem and bother me by asking too much
irrelevant questions. Therefore, I need to practice my individual presentation, in front of a mirror.

What are the Learning Outcomes for Topic 4?
I should acquire understanding about library research and internet research. I should also learn how to
write a research essay. I should acquire understanding of how to develop your research question and how
to make an idea organiser. As I already know, we need to write a topic sentence, a main body paragraph
and a concluding sentence. We need to start our topic sentence with introducing our topic, then we need
to write a main body paragraph, where we write about benefits and negatives or advantages and
drawbacks, at last we need to sum up and conclude our information.

What I achieved/didn’t achieve in Topic 4 and why. What examples can I give as evidence of this?
I achieved skills for how to do research and paraphrase. In particular, I developed my internet research
skill as I practiced this skill on time in class by researching information online using Internet on my
device. As an evidence for internet research, our teacher gave us a research question which we have to
look up online and research. Our teacher gave us 3 research questions and we have to choose any one
which seems easy to me. I chose sales of mobile phones in the past year topic as this topic seemed
challenging to me to research Information.

Skills I used in Topic 4.
In particular, the skills I used in topic 4 are how to do research and paraphrase research information in
your own words. We need to organise our essay in a way, we need to include our topic sentence at first,
then main body paragraph and at the last, concluding sentence. Our teacher used to give us a lecturer
about some topic and we used to make notes. I also learned study skills including primary research and
researching. I also learned how to use variety of sources for our research. I also developed organisation
skill by ensuring I had a device for my research at campus. I was also well organised ensuring, I had my
course books to study from.

I was successful as I developed my research skills and paraphrased the information in my own words.

deadlines for research. I also need to organise my research writing in a way, it is in appropriate format

I should be able to read journals and articles. I also need to evaluate and analyse the text in detail,
included in journals and articles. I also need to learn again how to cite my work therefore, I need to
revise citations. At the end, I need to ensure I proofread my work to ensure, there are minimum errors.

What I achieved/didn’t achieve in Topic 5 and why. What examples can I give as evidence of this?
I did not achieve learning outcome “read journals and articles” because I had other submissions to meet
therefore, it was difficult for me to manage and organise my time effectively. However, I revised citations
and this was one of my achievement as I ensured, I cite my work successfully in Harvard Referencing Style.
At the end, I ensured I proofread my work before submission. I achieved this learning outcome as I came
through many of the mistakes in my report and ensured that I correct them before, my submission.

Skills I used in Topic 5.
I developed referencing and citation skills as I ensured, I write correct name of the author from the site,
name of the webpage and URL address. I also ensured, I write correct date of the webpage to find about
when it was written and I ensured, I write date accessed on. I also developed my proofreading and editing
skills as I read through my text again to look for my mistakes and ensured that I re-write them.

I think I was successful in this topic because I revised my referencing and citations skills which helped me a
lot with citations and references. For citations and references. I ensured I give correct date of when the
webpage was written and the date when I accessed this article or webpage. For citations, I also ensured I
choose few cites to have a low percentage of plagiarism. As, I ensured I choose that articles and webpage,
the one which were available with author name, publish date, the title of the webpage and provided the
relevant information to the topic given.

Changes/improvements I need to make. How will these changes benefit me?
For changes and improvement, I think I need to revise my referencing and citations skills again as, I was
having problem with this skill. For improvement in this skill, II watched videos on YouTube for citations and
references which helped me a lot with my submission.

End of unit reflection

Look at the self-evaluation that you carried out in Task 1. Complete the exercise again.
I think, I have developed my referencing and citations skills in my topic 7, where I had to write a research
report. I think I have also improved my internet research for essay writing which helped me a lot in my
writing. Besides this, I think I have developed my organisation skill and time-management skill, where I
was required to meet deadlines for my work. For this, I ensured I had a device with me for research at
campus.

In what areas have you improved? Please provide specific examples.
I have specifically improved in referencing and citations skills as I had to again revise the process which
helped me a lot with my report writing. I had also developed proofreading and editing techniques as
before this unit, I was not aware about proofreading and editing techniques. Therefore, I had to learn this
technique from my book. I had also developed my reading skill as I was required to read content online. I
have improved my reading skill as an example, I used to look up content online and then, read it which
was very useful for my report writing.

Why do you think you improved in those areas? Please provide specific examples.
More specifically, I have developed my research skill as this course, was mostly based on researching skill
and organisation skill. We were required to research content online which helped me a lot with my
submission. I took a device with me every time which developed my organisation skill as I ensured I was
very well organised in the Scs classroom. I relatively think my research skills has improved as I used to look
information from authentic source which had the webpage name, date it was written on and author
name, to further help me with referencing skill.

Are there any areas which you need to focus on for your future study? What are they?
I think I have to improve my research skills, organisation skills and time management skill more further
as these skills will be very useful in my future studies of university qualifications which is going to be
based on researching skill and organisation skill. I believe NCC is a good education platform to practice
these skills and evolve particularly your research skills, organisation skills and time management skill.
Other than this, I need to learn Cornell method of note taking skill again as I don’t know how to use it for
note taking.
