Carto Mind Map 2
Carto Mind Map 2
Maps are an important source of information from which people form their impressions about places
and distributions. The Internet has already led to more interactive forms of mapping and the increased
availability of map animations. But much work lies ahead to make the Internet an effective means of
transmitting spatial information in the form of maps

Method
Interactive IT maps evolve into a cartographic form that has never been seen before. They
are accessed through a hyperlinking structure that makes it possible to engage the map user
on a higher level than is possible with a map on paper. The aim of this research is to show
that raster IT maps is not yet for discard. Interactive IT maps is a part of multimedia
cartography, which does begin to grow with the growth of computer technology. Maps are an
important source of information from which people form their impressions about places and
distributions. The demand for more sophisticated maps is increasing by applications like
electronic yellow pages, phone pages, traffic information services and tourism applications.
Lastly, Interactive maps are made for internet users which need some global information
about objects, features and conditions in our environment. Program OCAD is suitable for
making internet map with relatively small databases. Development is still needed to expand
the network and improve methods of map distribution and map interaction.
INTRODUCTION
The International Cartographic Association (ICA) has asked all countries to redefine and participants
at the 1988 Annual Conference of the British Cartographic Society (BCS) were invited to give their
opinion on the definition of cartography that could be adopted by the International Cartographic
Association in 1973 as "Art, science and map-making technology, together with their study as
scientific documents and works of art. In such a context, maps can be considered as all types of
maps, charts and sections, three-dimensional models and globes representing the Earth or any
celestial body at any scale."
