I. INTRODUCTION/ PRESENTATION OF CANDIDATES

KUYA THAD: Good afternoon my dear youth, parents and guests. This afternoon, witness, as ten
dazzling candidates present their very best and vie for the most covetous title right here at this very hall.

ATHINA: As the day fills with sheer excitement, we will soon find out who will be the first worthy title
holders. I’m ATHINA BRAVO!

KUYA THAD: And I’m KUYA THAD MENDOZA. And this is…

BOTH: MR. and MS. VMY GREECE 2016!

ATHINA: Good afternoon, Kuya!

KUYA THAD: Good afternoon, Athina! You look wonderful today! It’s a privilege for me to be right here
beside you hosting the 1st ever MR. & MS. VMY GREECE 2016!

ATHINA: Thank you! I’m happy hosting this event with you as well, Kuya Thad! Indeed, this is the most
awaited day for our exquisite candidates. And everyone is excited about this pageant, right? (asking the
crowd) Are you all excited? Excited na ba kayong makita at makilala ang ating mga nagagandahan at
nagagwapuhang mga candidates.

KUYA THAD: That’s right, Athina! The different teams I guess are already placing their own bets to their
chosen candidates and of course our spectators here are already excited as to who will win this pageant.

But before anything else a little background as to why we are doing this search for "Mr. & Miss VMY
GREECE”. For the information of everyone, the Mr. & Miss VMY Greece is a wit, talent and beauty
inside and out search of the members of VMY Greece who will serve as ambassadors of the
organization in promoting its advocacies in the community. Most importantly, he or she embodies what it
is to be a VMY Greece member. 

ATHINA: Korek ka dyan Kuya Thad, as a role model for the youth, the Mr. & Miss VMY Greece has to
be well spoken. Participation in this pageant enables him or her to achieve his or her personal goals of
building self-confidence, while providing a way in which to use his and her talents and intelligence to
serve our God and of course the community and to achieve a platform dedicated to making a difference
in the lives of others.

KUYA THAD: Tama ka dyan, Athina. VMY Greece is indeed looking for a person who will serve as a
model for our youth members. The one that possesses the Vincentian charism by action and the Marian
values by heart.

So wag na natin patagalin pa, today you will see our team candidates compete in Casual Wear, Talent,
and Question and Answer portions of this competition. But first, our Parade of Contestants! Watch
carefully…as they introduce themselves now…see if you can choose which one might be Mr. & Miss
VMY Greece… music please…

II. PRESENTATION OF JUDGES

ATHINA: A big hand to our team candidates… they all deserve to win but of course only two of them
will get the outstanding titles by the end of this pageant. So to help us decide who among our
candidates deserve to be the 1st ever MR. and MS. VMY GREECE, here is our distinguished panel of
judges:

KUYA THAD: Our first judge is one of the former catechists of the Miraculous Medal Center. She is a
well-renowned photographer by profession and captures the beauty of anything in every angle. Ladies
and gentlemen, the pretty Mrs. Annie Baay-Acbo

ATHINA: Next, we have another catechist of the center. She is fun to be with, adventurous, love to sit
alone with her books, and network friends or connect to people. She will soon be leaving us as she
ventures into another adventure in her life. Our best of luck to you! But before that she will be with us as
she help us choose our title holders, please welcome, the charming Ms. Alma Pastrana.

KUYA THAD: Our third judge is the girl that captures my heart. She is also a former catechist of MMC.
Friends, join me in welcoming Ms. Lilibeth Misolas.

ATHINA: Our fourth judge is a well-known commercial model este merchant of AVON beauty products.
She was previously seen in the teen – oriented TV series “Lipgloss” and one episode in “Untold
Stories”. She is known by many as “Tita Vicky”, the SMP “Samahan ng Malalamig ang Pasko” lady in
the AVON advertisement. Kidding aside, a person loved by her silent but strict attitude. Ladies and
gentlemen, a round of applause to the ever lovely, the Queen “V” herself, VMY Greece Coordinator, Tita
Victoria Alapot

KUYA THAD: Our fifth judge currently worked here at the Sisters of St. Joseph community as a Sisters’
Assistant and in her spare time works as a birthday and wedding coordinator. She is a former beauty
pageant goer herself as she competed long before in the early 90s in the MS. VISMIN beauty search.
She is also a consulting stylist and make-up artist for our children during special events in the center like
the Simbang Gabi. She is currently a Gold executive of Aim Global Hellas, upline of Aim One Achievers
Hellas and the Magic 5 corporation. She is still single and always ready to mingle. We proudly
introduce, the ever body-beautiful, tantalizing eyes, VMY Greece Coordinator, Ms. Marycel Binibini.

ATHINA: And lastly our chief judge was a young beauty titlist herself, as she won the Ms. Philippines-
Greece search last 2011 and brought honor to the country as she became the Greek Flag Bearer last
2013. She is a former active member of the VMY known to be the “krung-krung” of the group as she
possesses a very bubbly personality. Now on her 3rd year, she currently studies Business in Tourism
Management at the Technological Institute of Athens. Let’s all welcome, the Chairman of the Board of
Judges, the beautiful Ms. Roxanne Juanta.

So there they are! The people who will be responsible in deciding who will be the 1 st ever MR. and MS.
GREECE 2016! Goodluck to our distinguished set of judges and happy judging!

III. MECHANICS & CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

KUYA THAD: And now, this pageant is not only merely about glamour and poise but also defies the
contestant’s characters as well. I’m sure these candidates here would want to know how they will be
judged accordingly. So as we all know each TEAM (the MERCY TEAM) has selected one (1) male and
one (1) female member as their official TEAM candidate. Their TEAM candidates will be competing in 3
categories - Casual Wear, Talent and Question & Answer:

 Casual Wear Competition  - in  this  category  candidates will  be required  to  wear  the  casual
attire  of  their  choice to  satisfy the following criteria: overall first impression, sense of
attractiveness, technique including walk, posture and grace, sense of confidence, personality and
stage presence, appropriateness of attire, style.
 Talent Competition - every candidate will be given a maximum of three (3) minutes for the
talent presentation.  They are to be rated according to their Execution and Audience Appeal.
 Question & Answer – Each candidate will be given one question to answer by his/her chosen
judge and the answer will be rated according to its relevance, substance, & value to the question
given.

ATHINA: Each candidates will be judged from these 3 competitions using the 1 to 10 rating score
system. 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. The candidates’ scores from each competition will
then be averaged and the one that got the top 3 average scores, for both male and female candidates,
will next compete for the Final Question & Answer.

KUYA THAD: In the Final Q&A Round, previous scores will be disregarded (back to zero) and the Top
Three Male and Female candidates will be rated based on their final Q&A performance using again the
1-10 rating score.

The Top Three (3) Male and Female Candidates will be declared as Mr. & Ms. VMY Greece 2016, 1st
Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up, respectively.

May I remind you that the decision of the Board of Judges is FINAL and IRREVOCABLE.

IV. INTERMISSION NUMBER – MISSION TEAM

ATHINA: May I now request our candidates to leave first the stage and prepare for our 1 st portion of our
pageant, the Casual Wear Competition. We’ll see you in a while…

For the delight of everyone, each TEAM of the VMY has prepared a special intermission number, and to
start with, let us all welcome the MISSION TEAM - with their core leaders: Gerald, Danica, Lovely Ann &
Dolores and handled by their coordinator Tita Vicky Alapot.

V. CASUAL WEAR COMPETITION

KUYA THAD: And now we begin the first competition of our pageant, the CASUAL WEAR competition.

May I present to you the MR. & MS. VMY Greece 2016 Team Candidates in their chic and brisk casual
wear, starting with MR. MISSION – Anthony Joseph Casiño. AJ is 16 years old and loves to play music.
He also loves to sing. His motto in life is: JUST DO IT! Make your dreams come true. Just… do it! Our
Mr. Mission, AJ.

ATHINA: MS. MISSION – Maria Margie De Leon. Margie is 13 years old, one of the youngest among
our candidates. She loves to dance ballet. Her motto in life is: “Never give up!” Our Miss Mission,
MARGIE!
KUYA THAD: MR. HOPE – Ivan Dominique Manalang. Ivan is 15 years old and was born in Philippines
but raised here in Greece. He loves playing basketball and likes to express his feelings through playing
the guitar. His motto in life is : “Life isn’t about finding yourself it’s about creating yourself”. Our Mr. Hope,
IVAN!

ATHINA: MS. HOPE – Mary Ann May Oliha. Mestisa is 17 years old and is half-Filipino and half-
Nigerian. She loves to dance and dreams of becoming a lawyer someday. She believes in the saying:
“What comes around goes around”. Our Ms. Hope, MESTISA!

KUYA THAD: Μr. FRIENDSHIP – Vhon Christian Ragma. Vhon is 15 years old and was born in Manila,
Philippines. He is extremely outgoing and an friendly person overall. Because of these qualities, his
hobbies include dancing, singing, and, hanging out with friends, and anything that can express his
cheerful personality. He is determined to do his best in his life and believes in the saying, “Go after your
dreams no matter how unattainable others think.” Our Mr. Friendship, VHON!

ATHINA: Ms. FRIENDSHIP – Faith Joey Amber Abad. Amber is 15 years old. She isn’t afraid to
express her thoughts and emotions to everyone, which makes up her interesting personality. She loves
playing the guitar, listening to music and running. She believes in the saying, “Being who you are is more
important than who other want you to be”. Our Ms. Friendship, AMBER!

KUYA THAD: Mr. COMPASSION – Christian Hydrick Cusi. Hydrick is 15 years old. He loves playing the
guitar and has a great passion for music. He dreams of become a Chef someday. Our Mr. Compassion,
HYDRICK!

ATHINA: Ms. COMPASSION – Marivic Arquelada. Marivic is 14 years old. She’s into art, music and
food. She also loves hanging out with her friends. Her motto in life is: “Put others before yourself”. Our
Ms. Compassion, Marivic!

KUYA THAD: Mr. JOY – Noel John Nichola Gacusan. Our Mr. Joy, JOHN is 17 years old. He likes
sports and movies. His motto in life is: “Successful is the best revenge in life” and “Stand for life”

ATHINA: Ms. JOY – Maria Erica Molina. Erica is 13 years old, also one of our youngest candidates. She
loves to sing with friends and never gets tired of smiling. She believes that 'Whenever you feel like
giving up, Stand up, Have faith and DONT GIVE UP'. There is always a second chance in life, or third.

KUYA THAD: So there you have it, our team candidates in their casual wear. A round of applause to all
of them. Aren’t they lovely? Later on we will find out who among our candidates impressed our judges
and will be hailed best in Casual wear.

VI. INTERMISSION NUMBER – HOPE TEAM

ATHINA: Thank you very much our dear candidates, we will see you in the next round of our
competition, the Talent Portion. So in the meantime while our candidates prepare for their talents, we
shall give the floor to another team, this time the HOPE team to present their special number. The HOPE
Team is led of course by their Core Leaders: Athina Garcia, Alvin Bryan, Anthony and Brian Buddhadasa
and is handled by their Coordinator, Kuya Thad. A round of applause to the HOPE team!

VII. TALENT COMPETITION

KUYA THAD: Thank you very much to our HOPE team for that very energetic number. Now we proceed
to the 2nd category of our competition – The Talent Portion. It is surely more than physical quality that
meets the eye. Just like the abstract beauty of mixed black and white. This time our candidates will
showcase to us their God-given and genuine talents making each and every one of them stand out on
their own. Again, each candidate is only given 3-minutes to present his or her talent.

VIII. INTERMISSION NUMBER – FRIENDSHIP TEAM

KUYA THAD: Looks like everyone enjoyed the talents presented by our candidates. They all give their
efforts in showcasing their God-given talents but only one of our male and female candidates have
shown their best. Who will it be? We will find out later. In the meantime while tally the scores of our talent
competition, we will proceed to another special number to be presented to us by the FRIENDSHIP team.
The Friendship Team is led by its Core Leaders: Luigi, Ivy, Jayson and Julia and is handled by their
coordinator, Tita Marycel. Friends, give a hand of applause to the Friendship Team!

IX. QUESTION & ANSWER PORTION

ATHINA: Thank you very much Friendship Team! At this point, we have come to the much awaited part
of this event - the question and answer portion in which many people look forward to any pageant. May I
now call our candidates back here on the floor.

KUYA THAD: It is truly exciting because now we’ll know a bit more about our candidates.

ATHINA: True, because by answering the questions from our judges, we’ll definitely be able to test not
only the candidates’ wit but also their personalities.

KUYA THAD: But that’s not all, this part will also test their confidence, as they say, “talking is not as
easy as walking”.

So this is how the question and answer portion will proceed, as I call on the name of the team candidate,
he/she must pick up on this bowl a judge and his/her selected judge will give her question to the
candidate. The candidate is only given 1 minute to answer the question.

And so then, let’s begin the question and answer portion as I call on:

ATHINA: We’ll, they can only give us the results later. And that concludes our 3 categories and the
pageant’s getting tougher and tougher as our candidates are getting closer to the moment they are
waiting for.

X. INTERMISSION NUMBER – COMPASSION TEAM

KUYA THAD: Certainly, Athina. In a few moments, our candidates would be down to six. But before that,
we would like to thank the following people for making this event possible:

ATHINA: Thank you very much COMPASSION team for that very lively number. We now ask again all
our candidates back on the floor as we announce to you our 6 finalists our top 3 male and top 3 female
candidates who will proceed to the last round of our competition, the Final Q&A.

KUYA THAD: But before that we shall be giving first the certificate of participation to all our candidates
and afterwards announce the winners of our special awards: The Best in Casual Wear and Best in
Talent. Each of our candidates will be receiving a Certificate of participation in appreciation of their

KUYA THAD: Congratulations to our Best in Casual and Best in Talent awardees. And now we shall be

shall immediately proceed with the final Question & Answer. So to our candidates, goodluck!

And if I may, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate first all our candidates. Even though,
only six will go on, all of you are still winners. Let’s all give a hand to our candidates.

a matter of minutes we’ll be moving on to the most anticipated moment of this event… the
announcement of winners! But before that our last VMY MERCY team - the JOY team will be giving us a
special number. The JOY team is led by their Core Leaders: Jerry, John, Malen and Crisa and is
handled by their coordinator, Tita Marycel. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s give a round of applause to the

XV. ANNOUCEMENT OF WINNERS

KUYA THAD: Thank you JOY team! Now, are you guys ready to know the winners? Looks like they’re
more than ready, the teams and the crowd looks very excited! Again, may we call on our top 6 finalists!

ATHINA: We’ll just wait for the sealed envelope containing the names of the winners of this year’s
pageant.

KUYA THAD: I hate to see these lovely candidates suffer the suspense some moment longer. Let’s see
whose going home with the glory and be hailed as the new titleholders. To help us present our second –

teams for their exerted efforts in making our celebration of our anniversary wonderful today.
