If you are running windows 10 you will need to install this for the unit to download into the

computer as the windows 10 do not install the drivers required

this will download a .zip file you will need to extract the files before being able to install the
driver. Install the STM32 USB Driver.  This does NOT install the driver, it installs the installs
for windows 7 and windows 8/10

Then you need to Nagivate to this location on your computer to install the correct driver for
your computer.

C:\Program Files (x86)\STMicroelectronics\Software\Virtual comport driver

In the folder are Win 7/8 drivers for both 32 bit and 64 bit OS's.
I tried the Win8 64 bit one on a Windows 10 PC and it worked.

Choose the correct folder that matches your computer type.

Use the "skip" button to skip looking for the driver on Windows Update, then Windows
should assign it a COM port number which you should note down.

Plug in the USB cable and let the drivers install, it might take 3 minutes.

Then try to download the pasture cover.

Determining the COM Port Number of a Virtual COM Port:

Once the driver is installed, you will need to find out the number of the Virtual COM Port that has
been set up. In the majority of cases, you can determine the Virtual COM Port by following these
steps:

1. Open Device Manager:

Click: Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager (under "Devices and
Printers") – if this doesn’t work you will need to google this information but most computers.

2. In the Device Manager list, look in Ports and find the Virtual COM Port, which was created by
the USB driver.
i.e.___ USB to Serial Port___ (COM #).

If you plug your platemeter in while you have the device manager open you will see a new device
pop up with a COM number, you will need to make sure this COM number is displayed in the
pasture management software (as shown below)
