~ It made significant contribution to the development of Philippine Arts. It
helps individual to be determined, have passion and trust in their strength
and capability. It leads to good interpretation and understanding about arts in
our country.
2. Can you name some of the GAMABA awardees? What category of folk arts did they belong? Where are
they from?
~ Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) awardee Ginaw Bilog, a prolific
Mangyan poet of the 'ambahan tradition of the Hanunoo Mangyan of
Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro.
3. How their location is related to the kind of art they were producing/performing?
~ All artworks are, to some extent, the products of their culture, and they reflect
prevailing assumptions and beliefs. Art reflects the ever-changing culture a certain
place has and also has the ability to alter society's values. Moreover, art brings
