▪ When lifting, you must ensure that the slings, cables or chains used for this purpose do not damage any part
of the unit and in particular the water pump, the air receiver, the inlet air filter or the electrical motor.
▪ The compressor shall be placed with its anti-vibration pads directly on the flat and level floor. If the floor is
not flat or level, this may cause severe vibration.
▪ The connection to the compressed air pipe-work network shall be carried out by using the special hose
assembly supplied with the equipment and connected at the outlet of the assembly (final cooler or,
depending on the model, the air receiver).
The flexible hose supplied by Ateliers François shall be attached to the floor at its fixed end by
means of the fasteners provided. The flexible hose shall be installed in accordance with the
installation drawing and the flexible hose shall be installed without creating tension in the flexible
hose.
Note:
It is essential to provide the necessary protection for operating and maintenance staff. In particular
appropriate mechanical protection shall be provided for the 40 bar flexible hose, or hoses, for which
Ateliers François provide specially designed guarding.
If the guard supplied with the equipment is not installed, Ateliers François refuses to accept any
liability in the event of an accident.

The cable type and wire cross-sectional area shall be selected to suit the installed power of all the equipment,
the supply voltage, cable length and the mode of installation and shall be in conformity with the rules and
regulations of the country of installation, the electrical utility and the local authority.
WARNING:
Large variations in voltage may seriously damage the motors and the electrical and
electronic equipment.
The voltage and the frequency of the electricity supply shall match the equipment supplied.
The electrical connections shall comply with the wiring diagram of the control console.
Electromagnetic compatibility is provided for an industrial environment. For a residential environment, it may be
necessary to take measures to prevent interference; appropriate protection equipment must then be installed in
order to comply with local regulations.
The information (motor power, voltage and frequency) are reported in the electrical diagram of the compressor

4.4 Pneumatic connections
The cross-section of the compressed air distribution pipes must be suited to the flow rate of the compressor or
compressors. Ateliers François can advise on the correct calculation of the pipe cross-sections for your air
circuit.
It is recommended that the customer's main air pipes shall be protected against internal and external corrosion.
The equipment is designed for the temperature limits shown in the compressor data section. Should the
customer expect any of the equipment or the associated piping will be used outside these limits the equipment
will not be suitable for its intended use. In these circumstances you shall contact Ateliers François for guidance.
If several compressors feed into the same piping installation, it is recommended to install a non-return valve and
an isolation valve between each compressor and the piping circuit. If the air receiver is located after the isolation
valve, it is mandatory that the compressor’s control pressure tapping point is positioned between the
compressor and the isolation valve or compressor control may be adversely affected resulting in unsafe
operation.
It is essential to provide a sufficient number of anchoring points for the compressed air pipework such as to
prevent any transmission of vibration. The first support immediately after the outlet flexible hose shall be
designed to be very rigid and its attachment to the floor very solid. This guidance also applies to the pipes
located at the outlet of the air dryer.
The outlet flexible hose must be attached in accordance with the installation drawing. The flexible hose shall not
be misaligned to create either tension or compression loads. Mechanical protection to limit the risk due to
accidental hose rupture is provided around the flexible hose connection. This protection shall not be removed.
For all standard installations, this protection is supplied with the machine.
The connection pipes to the blower shall be fitted by qualified staff. This work must not cause misalignment
loads on the dryer’s flanges. The acceptance tests on these pipes shall be carried out in conformity with the
regulations of the country where the equipment is installed. The creation of these pipe connections may
sometimes generate pipe vibration due to gas pulsations. If this problem arises, the customer shall make use of
a specialist firm that can provide a solution.
In the event of a risk of freezing, a suitable anti-freeze product shall be added to the cooling circuit. This product
shall be suitable for the local conditions both for the local temperature and compatibility with the process
requirements. In some regions there are regulations, concerning hygiene and safety, which limit the choice of
products employed in machinery involved in the food industries.
If there is no glycol anti-freeze in the cooling system, it is recommended to add an anti-rust additive to the
cooling water.
CAUTION:
On no account shall the temperature of the cooling water at the compressor water
inlet connection be below 2°C (36°F).
The internal compressor water circuit is built by Ateliers François in our factory. On no account shall the
customer modify it. Any modification will result in the termination of all warranties and guarantees and could
affect the safety of the compressor.
The dimensions of the cooling pipes between the compressor and the cooling system shall be sized to restrict
the total pressure drop in the complete cooling water piping circuit to 1 bar maximum for the required water flow
rate.
If the water pump is not supplied with the compressor, it is mandatory to contact Ateliers François to receive
guidance and recommendation to ensure correct operation of the compressor.
Except in the case of written approval from us, Ateliers François accepts no liability in the event of modification
of the settings of these safety devices.
WARNING:
Any ill-advised modification of the instructions regarding the safety devices or
interference with the safety valves may lead to damage to the installation and/or
injury to the staff.
