• WATER SUPPLY
Water is an important natural resource and should be
managed in a holistic and sustainable way. Today, the threat
of inadequate safe water supply is real. Water is a key
development ingredient and should be made available to
every human being.
In the Philippines, groundwater is the common source of
water in cities, municipalities and rural areas. Groundwater is
primarily used by 60% of households, and in communities
without the convenience of piped water service from
municipal or city water districts, Metropolitan Waterworks and
Sewerage System (MWSS) concessionaires, people use
water from the nearby “poso” or deep well.
• STORM DRAIN
Storm drains are used to convey runoff in locations where
streets or other drainage facilities exceed their designated
capacity or are otherwise unable to drain. The most common
method for the introduction of water into a storm drain is the
street inlet, discussed in Chapter 28.44 GJMC. However,
water may also enter the system via grated area inlets,
culvert-type inlets (typically for the conveyance of drainage-
channel flow into the drain), pump stations, or other entry
points. The design of a storm drain system is dependant on
topography, street rights-of-way and drainage easements,
the need to convey flows from multiple locations, existing
and proposed structures and utilities, outfall locations, local
hydrology, and regional and local design criteria.
• SANITARY SEWER
The sanitary sewer is a system of underground pipes that
carries sewage from bathrooms, sinks, kitchens, and other
plumbing components to a wastewater treatment plant
where it is filtered, treated and discharged.
• PLUMBING PIPES
The plumbing pipes that carry water to your kitchen
faucet or drain waste to your sewage system have
evolved over time. The galvanized iron or steel pipes that
were a staple to in-home plumbing during the gave way to
more advanced plumbing solutions, such as polyvinyl
chloride piping (PVC) and polyethylene cross-linked
(PEX) piping.

• PLUMBING FIXTURE
bathroom and kitchen fixtures to suit your tastes. Colors,
materials and finishes can dictate your style, whether it is
traditional, contemporary, or a transitional mix. Nearly all
plumbing fixture manufacturers offer a variety of styles and
finishes in their products.
