LESSON PLAN IN ORAL COMMUNICATION GRADE 11

I. OBJECTIVES
 At the end of the lesson, 80% of the number of students should be able to
demonstrate any of the chosen type of communication

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Types of communication

Reference: Lesson Guide for Oral Communication


Materials: Laptop, Projector

III. PROCEDURES

C. Motivation

 Have you experience talking to yourself before?


 In what instances that you talk to yourself?
 How did the talking goes?
 Do you have any memorable conversation between a certain people?
 What was it about?
 How did the talking ends?
 Did you attend a seminar, orientation or a meeting before?
 What was it like?

D. Activity
“Guess What”
 The teacher will group the students according to the attendance that
are present
 On a ½ manila paper, you are going to write your memorable
conversation whether it is on yourself, on someone, or when you were
on a certain group of people
 Students should sure that every member would contribute their
respective memorable experiences
 Each group will assign someone to report and be ready to share it to the
class

E. Analysis
The teacher will ask the following:
1. How does it feel recollecting your memorable conversations before?
2. Does it still sounds and think awkward?
3. What have you learned from that occasion?

F. Abstraction
INTRAPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
-This is the act of communicating to oneself
-Others call this as self-talk or thinking
-Thinking can be done silently or aloud

INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
-This is a conversation between two to three people who happen to
have interdependence with each other
-This level requires turn-taking whereby the sender will have alternate
-role as receiver and vice versa in the entire conversation
process

SMALL GROUP COMMUNICATION


-It happens when three to six people converse among one another

PUBLIC COMMUNICATION
-This level of communication whereby a sender (speaker) talks to a large
group of people such as
 Conference
 Meeting
 Assembly
Purpose of public communication
 To inform
 To persuade
 To entertain

MASS COMMUNICATION
-The sender, like that of public communication, addresses a large group
of audience
-In mass communication, the speaker talks to the large audience
simultaneously using technology such as computer, radio, TV,
magazine, internet

G. Application

Direction:
 Form a group and use any of the types of communication as on how you
are going to utilize the communication you have chosen.
 The grades will be based on the criteria that will be given by the
teacher.
