Tutorial Task

Identify the topic sentence or main idea, major details and minor details in
the following paragraphs.

1. Flying on a commercial aeroplane is one of the safest forms of


transportation in the world. This is because nearly everything related to
airline travel is geared towards flight safety. This means that the process
of how passengers board an aeroplane to how aeroplanes are made,
maintained and operation is geared towards flight safety.

Topic Sentence / Main Idea: Flying on a commercial aeroplane is one of


the safes form of transportation in the world
Major SD: This is because nearly everything related to airline travel
geaered towards flight safety
Minor SD: This means that the process of how passengers board an
aeroplane to how aeroplanes are made

2. There are a few criteria to be observed for feedback to be effective. First,


it must be well-timed. This means that it should take place immediately
after the work has been done. Second, it must be precise. A job well
executed deserves positive feedback, while the poorest work should be
given negative feedback. Finally, feedback should be tailored to the
receiver. It has to be communicated in a way that is appropriate for the
person’s personality and aptitudes.

3. Frictional unemployment is something that is unavoidable. This is
because people take time to find or move between jobs. For example, a
fresh graduate cannot possibly find a job straight away to match his or her
skills.

4. This type if unemployment is not necessarily inefficient. It may be better


for job seekers to wait for the right job to be available rather than to settle
for any job that is available in the market. For instance, it may be better
for someone with a PhD to find the right job rather than to work as a
waiter at a fast-food outlet.

5. Entrepreneurship is more than just the creation of a new business venture.


It is a mindset. It is about imagining new ways to solve problems and
create value. Entrepreneurs are tenacious, but they recognize their own
limitations. They often set out to do different things or do things
differently. They are also prepared for failure and to respond with
something new and better.

creation of a new business venture.
