Inhibits the synthesis of thyroid hromones partially inhibits the peripheral conversion of T4 to T3m, the more potent form of thyroid hormone

Take this drug aroundthe clock at 8 hour interval s. y This drug must be taken for a prolong edd period to achieve d the desired effect.

Dizziness, weakness, vertigo, drowsiness; nausea and vomiting, loss of apetite; rash, itching.

Mild leukopenia, lupus-like syndrome, cutaneous vasculitis, thrombocytop enia. Skin rash, urticaria, arthralgia and fever. GI discomfort, vomiting, headache. Potentially Fatal: Agranulocyto sis, aplastic anaemia, liver injury and liver failure.

Administer drug in three equally divided doses at 8 hr intervals schedule to miantain the patients sleep pattern. Arrange for refular, periodic blood test to monitor bone marrow depression and bleeding techniques.
