1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A to E.
2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based questions of 04 marks each with sub-parts of the values of 1, 1 and
2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Questions of 2 marks, 2
Questions of 3 marks and 2 Questions of 5 marks has been provided. An internal choice has

28. Points P, Q, R and S in order are dividing the line segment joining the points 3

29. A vessel is in the form of a hemispherical bowl mounted by a hollow cylinder. The 3
diameter of the hemisphere is x cm and the total height of the vessel is 13 cm. Find
the value of x if the surface area of the vessel is 572 cm².
OR
A solid wooden toy is in the form of a hemisphere surmounted by a cone of same
radius. The radius of the hemisphere is 3.5 cm and the total wood used in the

making of toy is 166 𝑐𝑚3 . Find the height of the toy.

31. A man invested an amount of ₹ x at 10% per annum and another amount of ₹ y at 3
8% per annum simple interest. Thus, he received ₹1350 as annual interest. Had he
interchanged the amounts invested, he would have received ₹45 less as interest.
What amounts did he invest at different rates?

Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each
32. Two ships are approaching a lighthouse from opposite directions. The angles of 5
depression of the two ships from the top of a lighthouse are 30° and 45°. If the
distance between the two ships is 100 metres, find the height of the lighthouse.
(Use √3 = 1.732)

OR
The angles of depression of the top and the bottom of a 10 m tall building from the
top of a multi-storeyed building are 30° and 45°, respectively. Find the height of
the multi-storeyed building and the distance between the two buildings.

33. In the given figure, from a point P outside a circle with 5


centre O, tangents PA and PB are drawn to the circle.

(i) Prove that OP is the right bisector of the line


segment AB.

(ii) If chord AB = 9.6 cm and radius OA = 6 cm ,


find the length of tangent PA.

The hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle is 14 cm more than three times the shortest 5
side. If the third side is 1 cm less than the hypotenuse, find the sides of the triangle.

SECTION – E
Case study-based questions are compulsory.
36. A mint moulds four types of copper coins A, B, C and D whose diameters vary
uniformly. The first coin A has a diameter of 0.7 cm. The second coin B has
double the diameter of coin A and from then onwards the diameters increase by
50%. Thickness of each coin is 0.25 cm.

After reading the above, answer the following questions :


(i) Find the diameter of coin of type B. 1
(ii) Find the area (in cm²) of one circular face of type B coin. 2

Find the volume (in cm³) of copper used in type A coin.

(iii) Find the circumference of one circular face of type A coin.

37. Vishnu is a painter who uses a wooden ladder for


painting the walls. The ladder has rungs 20 cm
apart. (see Figure). The rungs decrease uniformly
in length from 50 cm at the bottom to 26 cm at
the top. If the top and the bottom rungs are 2.4 m
apart, then using the above information answer
the following questions:

38. A residential society has a triangular park with sides AB = 60m, BC = 75 m and
AC = 80 m. A path for walking is constructed inside the park (see figure). If
PQ||AB and PR||AC, then based on the above information answer the following
questions:

(ii) If OR:RC = 2:1 , the what is the value of OA:OP ? 1
