Case studies

A Dutch Social Security Provider deployed Red Hat OpenShift and AMOS within the
customer environment in a twin data center, connecting the customers CI/CD tooling and
delivering 24x7x365 support including operational and security monitoring.

We have been managing the customers platform throughout their lifecycle including full
automated project creation and user management through self-service options. We have
upgraded them from OpenShift 3.9 to 3.11 to 4.2 with zero application downtime leaving the
users to focus of projects and applications.

A large European telco operator and tier-2 Communications Service Provider (CSP)
introduced Network Function Virtualization infrastructure (NFVi) based on
Red Hat OpenStack.

The organization needed to handle huge mobile data growth with a carrier grade Core 4G
and 5G Mobile Data use case based on industry leading Network Appliances. 20+ other Virtual
Network Functions (VNFs) for other use cases were also installed on the NFV infrastructure
and significant security features were implemented to obtain the government security
agency’s accreditation. The NFVi capacity was extended by a factor of 12 to match traffic
growth while deployment time was reduced by a factor of 4 and significant CapEx and OpEx
savings. Through this project, the telecom operator developed the agility required to quickly
respond to new market demand.

Smart cities use technology to deliver better services for citizens,

ultimately improving their lives.

However, with so much data now available, aggregation is the biggest challenge. In Bordeaux,
Atos monitors and aggregates multiple Internet of Things (IoT) data sources from Intelligent
Transport System, buildings, waste management, etc., enabling the local authority to share
information in real time with citizens. We use AMOS to run those workloads, free from the
constraints of physical hardware, giving Local authorities the flexibility to easily adapt and grow
their smart-city services.
