AEB (Automatic Filling Parameter Determination)

(T/M oil change)

Before starting the AEB cycle :

1) Warm up the transmission (T transm >75°C)
2) Move shift lever to Neutral position
3) Engage parking brake
4) Make sure that RPM is between 900 - 1000
How to operate AEB procedure
On the display: - select Menu / AEB setting
- push “Enter” button for 3 seconds.

Now, “K1, K2, K3, K4, KV, KR” and finally “OK” should be displayed on the screen successively
If not so, refer to the AEB table on next page and make sure that all parameters are OK . Then, try Engine OFF→ON again.

AEB
Principle of transmission power shifting & AEB
In the neutral condition of clutch, shaft and gear are separated.
To engage shaft with gear, hydraulic pressure pushes piston to clutch pack, it makes gear turn with shaft.

※ AEB must be started

- before delivery at the vehicle manufacturer
- when replacing the TCU
- when replacing the transmission
- when replacing the clutch
- at each time of oil change Clutching
- initial 100 hours operation pressure
- every 1,000 hours operation
- when gear shifts with abnormal shock

Return Spring

17
AEB
Basic understanding of AEB
Transmission power shifting has three steps of clutch filling, force transfer, and slipping for full engagement of gear.

AEB

The process of AEB determines

the pressure and the time of clutch filling

Fill compensation
(0.15sec)
Fast fill (0.08sec)

※ Interference level of clutch filling

- Output current of the TCU - Clutch spring
- Pressure regulator - Clutch seal ring
- Pressure control valve - Sealing of the O-ring
- Orifice - Viscosity and purity of oil

18
AEB
Determination of the compensating pressure

(1) (2)
Fast fill Fill compensation

(3)

Step 1 of AEB is process of finding compensated pressure for clutch filling

(1) Filling oil to the clutch
(2) Moving piston toward disks in 2seconds with amount of hydraulic pressure.
(3) After 2 seconds, increase pressure 1 bar more than pressure before, and take time-window.(T-window)
(4) If the turbine speed is not rapidly decreasing in T-window, repeat (1)~(3) steps with 0.1 bar more than before until
turbine speed is rapidly decreasing in T-window. That pressure is the compensated pressure.

19
AEB
Determination of the fast fill time

(1) (2) (3)

Step 2 of AEB is process of finding fast fill time for clutch filling
(1) Filling oil to the clutch
(2) Moving piston toward disks in 0.15 seconds with compensated pressure founded step 1.
(3) After 0.15 seconds, increase pressure 1 bar more than pressure before, and take time-window.(T-window)
(4) If the turbine speed is not rapidly decreasing in T-window, repeat (1)~(3) steps with 0.01 seconds more than before
until turbine speed is rapidly decreasing in T-window. That pressure is the compensated pressure.

Start AEB

※ While the AEB is processing

- Engine speed is fixed
- Clutch is engaging (clutch filling, force transfer, slipping)
- Speed of middle gear chain is increasing
- Turbine speed is deceasing in the first stage, however it is increasing in the second stage because of
clutch load.
