    Losing close friends impacts both Achilles and Gilgamesh differently, yet both characters
    experience loss. The Old Testament and Gilgamesh both fall under the category of myths, which
    are old tales about supernatural creatures or occurrences that usually deal with early history. The
    boat in the Genesis was made quite long and broad, but the arc in Gilgamesh was created very
    boxy and smaller than the one in the Genesis. Gilgamesh and Enkidu, his companion, rival, and
    foil, are depicted in the book Gilgamesh. Sadly, Enkidu suffers a torturous and long demise as a
    result of the gods' punishment. The parallels between the two characters—despite the contrasts in
    their journeys and the two personalities themselves—help them to finally realize their genuine
    goals. Compared to Noah, the Gilgamesh epic. The characters share traits in common with one
    another, including suicidal inclinations, a lack of concern and empathy for others, and
    interactions with otherworldly creatures. Earlier than 2000 B.C., the Gilgamesh flood was
    written, but the Genesis account was composed about 400 BC. The flood in Gilgamesh lasts
    seven days, compared to Genesis' forty-day duration.

    Marduk, like God in Genesis (1:17–18) which tells the story of the creation of God, makes the
    stars and moon to aid mankind in determining the days, nights, seasons, etc. The Enuma Elish
    and the creation myth described in the Bible are similar in some ways and unlike in others. Like
    Jesus and Noah, the protagonist of the Gilgamesh epic, Gilgamesh is thought to have existed as a
    real historical figure.
    3. Based on your notion, who do you think is the person or a hero whom you could
    consider as a modern Gilgamesh? Why? What is the implication of this to the new
    world.

    This person is not a hero nor I will consider him or his father a hero but I can consider them as
    modern Gilgamesh. He is Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sr. Gilgamesh is persistent. He would do
    anything to get what he wants just like Marcos Jr. when he lost the seat for Vice President and
    insisted for a recount 3 times. Gilgamesh thought of himself as a god and showed it by the way
    he treated the people of the city just like Marcos Sr. before and after martial law and I hope that
    this won’t happen again in his son’s reign. But we are currently in times of crisis while the one
    who is seated is not doing anything but to increase the market prices and the decrease in value of
    dollar. And lastly, how the Epic of Gilgamesh is a myth just like how the Marcoses tells their
    story to the public.
