Part 1

1. Windows cannot run without the Windows kernel, which is a crucial software. After the
bootloader, the kernel is the second program to load. It loads and then manages and controls
all other processes and programs. Operating system of windows include the different kernel
components which are the Object management, Memory management, Process and thread
management, Input/output management, and Configuration management. In terms of process
control, the memory management, process and thread management, and configuration
management are the kernel components that are the most essential in controlling the
computer’s main memory. It helps that memory space is appropriately managed and
allocated, giving the operating system (OS), programs, and other processes access to the
memory they require to function.

2.
 Memory management

 The given sample is a memory management that

is responsible for the processes between memory
and storage devices. From the layout, there is a
swapping state which the operating system
temporarily swaps a specific process from the
main memory into secondary memory. This
enables the main memory to process other task
without getting confuse. In addition, the previous
processed data will go back to its original place
which is the main memory.

 Process management

 Process is the act of running a program and

carrying out the instructions it contains. It can be
described as an area where a program is
executed. The operating system (OS) helps in the
creation, scheduling, and termination of CPU-
related tasks.

 Configuration management

 The process of configuration pertains to

the determining the physical, functional, and
performance features of components including
hardware, software, and documentation as well
as their configuration inside a system.
Configuration Management is also making sure
that systems perform consistently with
expectations throughout time

c. 457 Megabytes
d.
 Facebook – 181 Megabytes
 Google Play Store – 14 Megabytes
 Messenger – 82 Megabytes
 YouTube – 0 bytes
 Samsung Browser – 9 Megabytes
e.
 Snapchat – 40 Megabytes
 Email – 9.9 Megabytes
 Samsung Browser – 43 Megabytes

f.
 The gathered data from my device indicates that the background processes has a
higher memory utilization or the memory usage. Application processes occupy space
only when currently in use for a specific amount of time. On the other hand, the
applications that is running in background contribute greatly in terms of RAM usage
and can affect the performance of the device. Apps can continue to keep working
even when you are not actively using them in background processes.
g.
 Via USB cable – Universal Serial Bus (USB), allow USB devices to be connected to each
other with and transfer digital data over USB cables.
 Via Bluetooth - Bluetooth is a wireless technology that transmits data over a short
distance using radio waves. Smartphones, computers, televisions, and other electronic
appliances are all examples of Bluetooth-enabled gadgets.
 Wi-Fi - A way for connecting wirelessly to the Internet via radio waves devices like

cellphones.

h.
 Yes, connecting a device to other devices create new processes by sharing different
information or data. Passing and exchanging of files can be done through wireless
connection like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth or using USB cable. Processes occurred when a
task is given in a system to transfer to other device.

i.
 Force stopping an application or different processes are caused by malfunctioning and
not running normally. This maintains your device operating at its best and guards
against potential issues like data loss or corruption. On the other hand, force stop is
generally safe in terms of to keep or avoid other errors from the program that may
occur.

j.
 The device that I currently using was released on year 2016 and as the time goes by, I
experienced different issues in terms of limited or low capacity of internal storage and
processor. It performs the tasks well in terms of my usage like messaging, watching
online videos, and other basic processing but sometimes when installing new apps, it
automatically crashes because the operating system is not compatible with my
processor.

k.
 Force stop – It terminates all of the program's active processes, forcing an app to stop
acting badly can avoid other malfunctioning.
 Close the app – Closing the app will end the current situation of processing by swiping
in any direction. However, it will still run in the background application even if the app
is already closed.
