Digital Infratech is a BPO Company. Its management has decided to use DBMS to
store all the data. You are hired by the company as its Database Administrator. Your
first assignment is to provide database support for storing/managing the data of all
its employees. Consider the following sample data and write SQL commands for the

1. Create the table analyzing the sample data given. Identify and create the Primary
Key too.

2. ‘ROHAN VERMA’ has joined SALES department with a salary of Rs.25000. Insert a
record for him in the table.

3. The management of the company wants to get a report displaying all the names of the
employees sorted in descending order of their department name. Help the
management to do so.

4. ‘DIKSHA SHARMA’ has given an application to the management to correct the spelling
of her name to ‘DEEKSHA VERMA’. Do the needful.

5. The management of the company has decided to increase the salary of all the
employees by 30%. Help the management to do so.

6. The management of the company wants to get a report displaying all the details of the
employees whose salaries are in the range of Rs. 20000 – Rs. 30000.

7. ‘RADHIKA GARG’ has resigned and is no longer the part of the company. How will you
delete her record from the database?

8. The management of the company has decided to reduce the salary of all the employees
of HR and SALES departments by 20%. Help the management to do so.

9. The management of the company wants to get a report displaying the details of the
female employees having salary more than Rs. 20000. Help the management to do so.

10. The management of the company wants to find out if they increase the salary of the
employees by IT department by 2500, what will be their new salaries. Help the
management to do so.

11. The management of the company wants to store the punctuality status of its
employees (whether punctual or not). Help the management to do so.

12. The management of the company wants to find out the details of the employees with
codes E104, E109, E106 and E119. Help the management to do so.

13. The company noticed that the names of the departments are too small and the field
to store it is of much larger size. Change the size of the field so that it can store 10
characters only.

14. The management of the company wants to delete all the records of the table. Help the
management to do so.

15. The management of the company decides to delete the table EMPLOYEE. Help the
management to do so.
