Sub: Prior approval of the Government of India under section 68(1) of the Electricity act, 2003 to
M/s SBE Renewables Sixteen Private Limited for the transmission scheme “Connectivity
system to M/s SBE Renewables Sixteen Private Limited for 180 MW Solar project in
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan”-reg.

Sir,
Reference is invited to the above mentioned letter, seeking prior approval of Government of
India under Section 68(1) of Electricity Act, 2003, in favor of M/s SB Energy Renewables
Sixteen Private Ltd for the transmission scheme “Connectivity system to M/s SBE Renewables
Sixteen Private Limited for 180 MW Solar project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan” with the following
scope of work:

i. SBE Renewable Sixteen Pvt. Ltd. –Fatehgarh-II PS 220 kV S/c line (suitable to carry 300
MW at nominal voltage) along with associated bays at generation end.*
* Length of transmission line is approx. 12 km out of which approx. 9 km would be
implemented as S/c line on S/c towers and balance line near Fatehgarh-II PS substation would
be implemented as S/c line on M/c towers.

2. The above transmission scheme with its specified scope of work has been agreed for 180 MW
plant capacity in 32nd meeting of NR Constituents regarding Connectivity & Long-Term Access
applications in Northern Region held on 28.02.2020.

3. CEA conveys the prior approval of the Government of India under section 68 (1) of the
Electricity Act, 2003 for the following overhead line under the transmission scheme
“Connectivity system to M/s SBE Renewables Sixteen Private Limited for 180 MW Solar
project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan”:

i. SBE Renewable Sixteen Pvt. Ltd. –Fatehgarh-II PS 220 kV S/c line (suitable to carry 300
MW at nominal voltage).*
* Length of transmission line is approx. 12 km out of which approx. 9 km would be
implemented as S/c line on S/c towers and balance line near Fatehgarh-II PS substation would
be implemented as S/c line on M/c towers.

4. This approval is subject to compliance of

a) The relevant provisions of the Act, as amended from time to time and the rules and
regulations made there under, and
b) CEA (Measures relating to Safety and Electrical Supply) Regulations, 2010 and any
subsequent amendments made thereto.

5. The approval is also subject to the following conditions:

i. The implementing agency will commence construction of the project within three years of
grant of approval, unless this term is extended by the Central Electricity Authority.
ii. Central Electricity Authority may withdraw the approval before the expiry of the period of
three years after giving a one-month notice.
iii. The implementing agencies shall abide by the provisions of Works of Licensee Rules, 2006
notified by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Power in the Gazette of India, extra-ordinary Part-
II, Section 3(i) dated 18-04-2006 (vide GSR 217 (E) dated 18-04-2006).
iv. In the event of any change in the connectivity granted by CTU, the approval of the
Government of India under Section 68 (1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 to M/s SBE
Renewables Sixteen Private Limited for the transmission scheme would also likely to be
revised.
