Im going to talk
about a quite popular issues nowadays. Which is I would like to elaborate or open people minds
about mobile games. WHAT IS MOBILE GAMES? First, let me tell you or describe about what is
mobile game. A mobile game, or as known as smartphone game, is a video game that is
generally played on a mobile phone. Mobile games also refers to all games that are played on
any portable device such as mobile phone either feature phone or smartphone, tablet, or
portable media player . Mobile games can be played on those devices with or without network
availability depends on game. The earliest or first game on a mobile phone was a Tetris variant
from 1994. Then, Nokia launched a game called Snake in a year of 1997. Snake become one
of the most famous and also played games since ever and after. This game also can be found
on more than 350 million devices worldwide. Nowadays, mobile games are usually
downloaded from an app store or google play store. Before mobile games exist, people been
playing games on calculator gaming. Calculator gaming is a form of gaming in which games are
played on programmable calculators, especially graphing calculators. For example, Casio
pocket calculator had a built-in "Invaders" game on 1980s. This means people has been played
games since a long time ago. Today, we can say most of people especially parents say that
mobile games are bad. Actually, mobile games do have its own pro and cons. As you can see,
this is the graph of percentages of pros and cons of mobile games. We all know how much
young people like using their phones and tablets to play games. Despite the fact that mobile
games appear to be entertaining, they also can be harmful for young generation. The content
of many mobile games is full of fighting and killing, gunfire, wild and weird characters which
have a serious negative impact on young people’s moral and psychological health. Those
young people who are addicted to games are often not calm enough, restless, impulsive,
indifferent to others, and more violent, bringing certain bad factors to the campus, family and
society. They are in reality, but their minds are in the online world. Other than that, the
first and the biggest problem with mobile games is that they can make you addicted. Mobile
game addiction is a rising problem and likely to increase in the future. The World Health
Organization has recognized gaming disorder as an actual mental health condition, and global
prevalence is around three to four percent of gamers. Considering that there are about three
billion gamers globally,  the number of addicted gamers is between ninety to hundred million.
One of the main reasons behind the pandemic of mobile game addiction is that mobile games
are designed to be addictive. They provide instant gra ti fi ca tion and encourage gamers to
keep playing every day. Players who play every day may even receive bonuses and special
rewards in encouraging them to play even more. But the concept of addictive video games is
even more complicated. They manipulate several aspects of our psychology, such as: 1.
Progression of our in-game character, which replaces real-life personal development and
other than that in-app purchases encourage you to keep spending more money  and many
more. Once a video game becomes an addiction, it will far out weigh all the benefits of video
games. It will impact your pro fe ssio nal life, personal development, and interpersonal relations.
In spite of that, mobile games also do have many benefits or advantages for young generation.
Not only young generation, earlier generation also could get many benefits by playing mobile
games. The reasons why I said mobile games do have many benefits is , mobile games can
promote teamwork and social engagement with other players, making it a modern form of
socialization for kids and young adults. Some games even can force you to cooperate with
other players, it is a beneficial exercise for team-building and esta bli shing social connections
with other players. Also, several games present the opportunity to make new friends and
connect to them in ways that no other medium does, including the chance to meet people
from all over the world. However, excessive playtime can lead to increased
isolation and loneliness, which are linked to mental health problems like depression and social
anxiety. Not only that, money can also be earned through mobile games. There is one job
called streamer, anyone can stream their gameplay in real-time for the world to see. The
biggest platform for streaming is Facebook. By doing live stream, if your fans continuously
give you a gift and those give can be convert into a money. You also will be paid by which
platform you do your live stream. Apart from that, you also can make money by joining and
winning on any of mobile games or e-sport tournament that be held. There is a sport call
eSports. E-sport also known as e games, or electronic sports is organized competitive video
gaming. It involves teams competing against each other in tournaments for a cash prize.
It is the same as traditional sports. Top-level athletes are constantly fight for the top spots in
world wide with their sport, or game, of choice. In conclusion, The pros and cons of games are
interlinked and will differ from one gamer to another. There are positive benefits of games
when played in moderation and also There are also negative effects of mobile games if played ex
ces sive ly. You should always be aware of the cons of games. If you notice the first signs of
these cons developing, you should consider moderating your gaming or seek help to prevent
