User Interface Design-MCA
User Interface Design-MCA
Course Objectives:
The design of user interfaces for machines and software, such as computers, home appliances, mobile
devices, and other electronic devices, with the focus on maximizing the user experience. The goal of
user interface design is to make the user’s interaction as simple and efficient as possible, in terms of
accomplishing user goals (user-centered design).
Course Outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to:
1. Alan Cooper, “The Essential Of User Interface Design”, Wiley – Dream Tech Ltd.,
2002.
The advances and the latest trends in the course as well as the latest applications of the
areas covered in the course with the latest research. Discussion of some latest papers
published in IEEE transactions and ACM transactions, Web of Science and SCOPUS
indexed journals as well as high impact factor conferences as well as symposiums.
Discussion on some of the latest products available in the market based on the areas
covered in the course and patents filed in the areas covered

LIST OF EXPERIMENTS
3. Identify a design need/gap/problem/issue and apply UCD process with details of tasks and
activities to be performed in each stage.
5. Identify areas to improve end user experience. Propose design enhancements for
important tasks/activities as static screen designs.
7. Test the effectiveness of the designed solutions using appropriate tools and techniques
with the target audience.
9. Identify a need/gap for a digital application for a social need and design high fidelity
prototype for most critical task flow incorporating Icon, Navigation and Interaction
Design elements based on user experience guidelines.
11.Game Design Documents and Technical Design Document. Level, Sound, UI Design.
12.User interface design for Virtual Environment.
