The document discusses the financial performance of the top football clubs globally based on revenue generated according to Deloitte's Football Money League report.

The report profiles the highest revenue generating football clubs globally and analyzes their financial performance over the past two seasons which were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 has had a significant negative impact on matchday revenues for clubs due to lack of fans in stadiums, but broadcast revenues are at a record high due to deferrals in distributions related to seasons impacted by the pandemic.

Two seasons

The impact of COVID-19 in financial years 2019/20 and 2020/21 has been undeniably
significant. Accounting methods and timing differences meant that the profile of
revenue reported in each financial year further hindered comparability, and saw clubs
move up and down the Money League in a somewhat erratic manner. Perhaps the
best way to understand the clubs’ individual and collective financial performance over
this period of the pandemic is to assess the average revenue generated over the two
financial years, which helps to smooth out any reporting issues and allows clubs to be
compared more accurately.
