2022 First Holy Communion Liturgy
2022 First Holy Communion Liturgy
INTRODUCTORY RITES:
Introduction:
Child2: Today, for the first time, we are going to receive Jesus, the Bread of
life. Just like the bread that we need in order to grow and become
strong, Jesus, the Bread of Life, makes us also strong in our faith and
in our love for God and others.
GREETING:
Priest: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen
Priest: This is a special day for us all, especially for you, our dear children,
because you are going to receive Jesus in Holy Communion for the first
time. When you were baptized you became members of God’s family.
That is why; Jesus will give you a special sign of his body and love. He
will give you his Body and Blood.
Today, you will pledge to love him more each day. Let us then prepare
ourselves to receive Jesus in our heart and in our life.
PENITENTIAL RITE:
Priest: Let us ask forgiveness from one another and especially from God for
not being as good as He wants us to be.
All: Amen.
Lord have mercy (SUNG)
Glory to God…(SUNG)
OPENING PRAYER:
Loving Father, you are good. You give us life. On the day we were
baptized, you called us your children. We ask you to make us strong
as we receive Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life, so that we will grow
and become good children. Grant this through Jesus Christ, our
brother, together with the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever.
All: Amen.
Commentator: Please be seated for the liturgy of the word.
Salmong Tugunan:
Ang Panginoon ang aking Pastol pinagiginhawa akong lubos
GOSPEL
karamdaman.
HOMILY:

Priest: Pray brothers and sisters that this sacrifice may be acceptable to God,
the almighty Father.
All: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory
of his name, for our good and the good of all His Holy Church.
Priest: Loving Father, we come before you with gifts of bread and wine to
show that we are yours. These gifts say that you have given us your
Son, Jesus. We want to share this bread and wine as your people-
giving ourselves to Jesus through everyone present here today. We
ask you this through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
Priest: God our Father, we are to give You thanks and praise because
you love us. With Jesus we sing your praise.
Priest: Because you love us you sent your Son to bring us to you and gather
us around Him as the children of one family. With Jesus we sing
your praise.
Priest: For such great love we thank you with the angels and saints as they
praise you and sing.
Priest: Blessed be Jesus whom you sent to be the friend of our children and
of the poor.
All: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the
highest!
Priest: God our Father, we now ask you to send your Holy Spirit to change
these gifts of bread and wine into the +body and the +blood of
Jesus Christ our Lord.
The night before He died, Jesus your Son showed us how much you
love us. When he was at supper with His disciples, he took bread,
and gave you thanks and praise. Then he broke the bread gave it to
his friends and said:
