STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
Standard operating Procedure for MBR STP -300 m3/Day
Drum Screen :-
Sewage transfer to drum screen with the help of submersible pump, after that the rotating
drum screen filter the solid waste from sewage water and it’s pass through anoxic tank
Two air blowers (1 working + 1 standby) are provided for aeration of the sewage in aeration
tank.
Select the air blower operated through Panel by automatic and manual mode with the help
of PLC mode.
When the panel and blower start is running due to its automatic mode. When operate
Manual mode the select manual mode with the help of PLC user guide manual.
In auto mode blower time are selected through timer. Every 4 hours auto changeover will be
happens automatically.
Blower discharges air in the form of very fine micro bubbles in aeration tank
Micro bubbles are produced in aeration tank with the help of EPDM disc diffusers provided.
Fine micro bubbles ensure efficient oxygen transfer
This biomass consumes the organic matter present in sewage and utilized the oxygen for
their metabolic process
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
MBR Process Description:-
Sewage water transfer from aeration tank to MBR tank by gravity mode. MBR Process describe in three
it’s given below.
Permeation:-
Refers to the pulling of water from the mixed liquor through the membrane (from the outside of the
Membrane fibber to the inside) to produce permeate. During permeation, there is a net transport of
mixed liquor solids towards the membrane surface, although the solids concentration at the membrane
surface is reduced by the effect of membrane aeration.
Relaxation: -
Refers to a short period of time where permeation is stopped (by stopping the permeate pump and/or
closing the permeate valve), while membrane aeration is continued. During relaxation, there is a net
transport of mixed liquor suspended solids away from the membrane surface, due to the effects of
membrane aeration without Permeation.
Filtration Cycle: -
The duration of the filtration cycle is the sum of the Permeation duration and the Relaxation duration
and the time required for valve switch-over
1. Suction pump:
The filtrate suction pump should be controlled to operate for intervals of nine (9) minutes on
and one (1) minute off. A filtrate flow transmitter should be installed to provide a control signal
to the suction pump. The suction pump should be stopped if the liquid level in the membrane
tank drops to a predetermined low liquid level. If, at any time, the air supply to the membrane
module or RAS (return activated sludge) is interrupted the suction pump should be stopped. Do
not operate the filtrate suction pump on low membrane tank level or high TMP. Once the air
supply has been restored the membrane tank and good RAS circulation is observed, delay
activation of the suction pump for one NIRE-170-1-6 36 minute to make certain sufficient sludge
mixing has taken place prior to restarting the filtration process. The suction pump should always
be off when performing air diffuser cleaning.
2. Membrane scouring blower:
The blower supplying air for membrane scouring should be on continuously. Air flow (and
suction pump) should be stopped if the liquid level in the membrane tank falls below the preset
low level for a long period or flow to the membrane tank stops. In such cases the air supply
should be applied for five (5) minutes each hour the system is not producing filtrate. This is
required to keep the sludge well mixed and in good condition for restarting the filtration process
while avoiding too much stress to the membrane elements.
3. Membrane tank water level:
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
If the liquid level in the membrane tank reaches the low level, the suction pump and membrane
scouring air should be stopped. If the membrane tank reaches high level the wastewater feed
supply should be stopped.
4. MSP: Membrane Sucking Pressure
MSP alarms should be incorporated into the MBR control logic. A ”HIGH MSP ALARM” should be
activated when the MSP increases 10% from the initial MSP value. A ”HIGH HIGH MSP ALARM”
which stops filtration should be activated when the MSP reaches High.
