Cognitive: identify the different sensory images
used; Affective: appreciate the importance of
sensory images in conveying message for everyday
life; and Psychomotor: provide the correct sensory
image in several statements to be shown in the
class.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson The teacher will process the pictures with the
learners by asking questions
C. Presenting examples/ instances of Title of Activity: Picture talk The teacher shall
the new lesson prepare a blank diagram which shows the 5 senses
as the header. In strips of paper, random words
that can be associated with the 5 senses will be
provided. The teacher shall call on students to pick
a strip of paper from the word bank and whatever
is the word written on the paper, the student must
stick to it to the right category,

D. Discussing new concepts and The teacher will process the pictures with the

E. Discussing new concepts and Sensory Image - mental picture created in the mind
practicing new skills #2 of the reader as he/she assimilates the language of
the author.
WHAT IS IMAGERY? Imagery - method of writing by
which the author uses ordinary words to create an
image

6 TYPES OF IMAGERY SIGHT (visual) - appeals to the


sense of seeing
SOUND (auditory) - appeals to the sense of hearing
SMELL (olfactory) - which appeals to the sense of
smelling
TOUCH (tactile) - which appeals to the sense of
feeling
TASTE (gustatory) - which appeals to the sense of
taste
MOTION (kinesthetic) - which appeals to the sense
of seeing except that the line contains another
dimension- movement
F. Developing Mastery (Leads to The teacher will give examples to the class by
Formative Assessment) letting students identify the imagery predominant
in several statements: 1. flickering fireflies
2. the squeak of spinning wheels
3. chocolate, ice cream, and apple pie
4. the piercing rays of the noon day sun
5. a host of golden daffodils

8. birds chirping
9. the lambent tolling of the bells

G. Finding practical applications of The class will be divided into 4 groups.
concepts and skills in daily living As a heads up for the activity, the teacher will play
the song “Your Love” by Alamid. As a group they
will have to brainstorm of a song that shows at least
one of the 6 sensory images. After choosing a song,
they must sing the part of the song that shows the
sensory images
