Course/Year/Section: BSCE 1-4

Date: 11/04/2022

Directions : Answer in not more than 5 sentences.

Analysis A

Which self do you think dominates you, your I-Self or Me-Self? And how does it shape you?

- Me-Self, it shapes me in a way that I can look at a bigger picture. I always seek/ dig deeper
on the reasons behind my every action which helps me know myself more.

Analysis B

Can you describe yourself in the next ten years? And what are the plans that you are taking now to
pursue those goals?

- I describe myself as a knowledgeable and achiever person in 10 years. The plans that I do
right now for me to pursue these goals is to learn various things not just in academics, but
also in real life. I am currently learning about how rich people attain their current status and
making myself whole and ready as I reach my young adult period.

Analysis C

Cite instances or experiences where you hide your true self and why? How this experience helps you to
improve yourself.

- Whenever I am about to meet new people. Because I am not yet comfortable with the people
around me, and so are they, me being all-out right away isn’t really an appropriate way to
act. It improves me because I learn more how to become flexible in terms of being with
different kinds of people.

Analysis D

Think about a big decision you have made. List down how you arrived in that decision and what was
your realization in the result/ consequences.

- I decided to start exercising regularly. I arrived with my decision because of the motivation
brought by seeing the results gained by my friends. I realized that working out is a way of life
which could help us not just physically, but both mentally and emotionally.
Analysis E

Cite your western and eastern characteristics. How these characteristics do help you in dealing with
other people and says about you.

- Individualistic and modesty. I am more sensitive in dealing with other people because I have
been assessing myself first before others. And I stay humble always because I believe that
making it seem that we are superior others can take us nowhere, can impress no one, and
can bring bad impressions to people.

Analysis F

Are you individualistic or collectivistic? How do these affect the way you see yourself and treat other
people?

- I am individualistic. Because I assess on my self more and see what needs to be improved. I
look myself in the mirror first before I see the group I belong with. It affects the way I treat
other people in a way that I am more careful on the words that I speak for it might bounce
back to me.

Analysis G

What is your reflection on the social construction of self? Do you agree or disagree that we are shaped
by culture?

- My reflection on the social construction of self is that it is somehow true due to our
subconscious mind. We unknowingly become what we see or hear on the majority of our
encounters.

Analysis H

List down traits or virtues that you think have been rooted in Confucian thought. How these traits
helped you in shaping yourself and improving your behaviour.

- Wisdom, benevolence, and fidelity. I think these traits helped me improve my behavior
because through having a good judgement in what I do, I can correct things and lessen the
risk of any conflicts, harms, and pain to others. And practicing politeness or kindness to
people helped me learn how to respect people which also makes me a respectable person.
And lastly, loyalty helped me gain the trust of people.
