Weebly Website Outline
Weebly Website Outline
Taking ENC 1101 has allowed me to try writing in unconventional ways and given
the chance to so do I thought it was the best for me to try something new.
As I started to record for my writing process, I knew I really couldn't find a schedule that would
detail all my writings. I tend to fluctuate with my writing, so it all depends on how lazy I get.
When I started this process, I was in the common area of my dorm when it was first assigned and
started writing. I started with the reading response and then slowly started to look more into
the assignment and realized I could compare it with my daily agenda.
I would go back to this writing about every day or every other day. I would slowly find my ideas
making more and more sense that allowed my writing to become more understanding. When we
finally looked at the sample however is what made me realize I could use another way to
produce this assignment. When I realized I had used weebly before in high school, I decided to
do it again for this assignment.
I never honestly did an outline, but I did plan out what I was going to write in a separate sheet to
figure out what I wanted to use. I choose how I was going to evaluate the website then started to
construct it. I started looking at different themes and fonts I could use till I find which one I
really liked.
Finally, once I started the format for my website my pervious ideas just started to file out on the
web editing. Even though, I am not doing a formal essay I am still writing to answer certain
questions and using a different way to present my information. With this new way of creative
freedom, it allowed me to bring my writing process in a new outlook.
For my self-portrait analysis, I will be analyzing my reading response and a to do list, one was an
assignment that I had to turn in to my professor, and the other was a personal writing that I do
every day to keep check of my things. I’m not that big on personal writings but I do like to put
out my day, so I know what I need to accomplish or what I need to get done.
I am 19 years old, and I just recently embarked into the college lifestyle. Even though I have
been in school basically my whole life this part of my life has ultimately been very challenging
and different. I have always written essays, poems, texts, notes, and so much more which makes
writing come in so many different aspects. From my analysis I can note that I write for my
audience, I annoyingly plan my essays, and how throughout my time at ENC 1011 I have come
closer to reaching my goal.
For these two pieces of writing, I start my writing in different ways. When writing my
reading response, I look at the questions and I start to closely look at what I need to answer
for the certain prompt. I start planning it out in my head and then I slowly start to answer
questions that I know I can answer on top of my head. I pretty much keep the same style for
the whole prompt. But when I do my check lists, I start my day by looking at canvas for
assignments or start thinking about reminders I need for the day. It’s much easier to write
me to do list and throughout the day I’ll either add or move my to do list around. Even
though my process is different for my writing they are still mine and something I put effort
into.
I had two different audiences for my writings. For my reading response my audience is my
professor and my peers. My teacher asked for the analysis, and I had to submit it which will be
graded. It’s also for my peers in my class because when we do peer reviews, I want to gain their
opinion on how to either better my piece of writing or if my writing is good. Both my professor
and my peers changed the choices I made for this assignment because it made me make sure I
used proper English, was aware of how I wrote and wanted to write something that was
engaging. But, when writing me to do list the audience is myself, and the choices I make for it
are less timely. I write what I need to write, if its sloppy I don’t care if I can understand what I
need to get done.
My role regarding reading response 4 was to convey the purpose of the essay clearly as
well as set a professional tone. But, in my agenda, I am allowed to write my daily list,
which is to keep me in check throughout the day. Both writings are alike because the
writings are about me and what I think. So, when it comes to my role in writing, I believe
it is one the biggest roles regardless of what type of writing I am doing.
For the reading response 4, my motivation was to make sure my professor, Mrs.Hensly,
understood my writing steps through my analysis. I was motivated to convey to her my
personal approach to writing. It was also in my best interest to keep it at a professional
tone since I am being graded on it. For my agenda, my motivation was very different.
My motivation came from the things that I know need to be done for the day. I am a very
type A person. I plan my whole day from the night before and make sure I check off
everything that's on my list regardless how late or tired I am. The main reason I make
this little to do list is so I can write out all my tasks for the days without having to
rely solely on my brain.
My goal of writing my reading response was to get that A for this semester. But also,
because it meant that I would be able to evaluate my writing process. But my goal for
my agenda was simply to get tasks done and keep record of what I've done or haven't
done.
From what I learned in my analysis compared to what I thought about myself as a writer
was being able to see how differently I take certain writings and how they are
interpreted. It caught me by surprise because my process is different every time, I write
a certain thing. I just never really gave it to a thought on how my process is. When I'm
writing I decide what my writer's identity is based off what prompt or writing needs to be
completed. A major point in my writing career that influenced me as a writer was when I
applied for a scholarship and got it off my writing. It is important to me because it gave
me a lot of confidence while I write, and which is why I continue to pursue it. Some
different genres of writing that I write are an essay for a class or notes for class. Another
type of genre is writing birthday cards, me to list, a personal journal, and even texting
my friends throughout the day. I have a big audience once I put together all the pieces
of writing I do. Some of my audience is my professor, my parents, friends, peers in
class, and even myself. They all impact my choice of writing because depending on who
I write for is how formal I write. If I need to really check my grammar or even re-read it to
make sure they'll understand it. Lately because I'm in school I write essays the most
often. Texts messages and to do list are normal because they're in my daily routine. The
technologies I use the most are my laptop and my journals. Even though we are in an
age of technology I use my journal because I can map out everything. It gives me better
visuals and allows for me to grasp my writing before I start. In my opinion the most
significant thing above is how my views changed on how I thought I wrote. It allowed me
to analyze myself as a writer and make better changes to my new writings.
