What’s New
The Classical Period falls between the Baroque and the Romantic periods. It is
also known as the “Age of Reason” or “Age of Enlightenment” because reason and
individualism rather than tradition were emphasized in this period. During this period,
different instrumental forms of music were developed. These were sonata, concerto,
and symphony. The three greatest and most popular composers of the period are
Franz Josef Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Ludwig Van Beethoven.
