Factors Affecting Course Preference

This document summarizes a study about college entrants' course preferences and the implications for new program offerings. The study surveyed 486 randomly selected college entrants to identify factors influencing their course choices and their top three preferred courses for each department. The results showed that career opportunities, personal interests, passion, and skills were the main factors affecting career choice. Psychology, preschool education, computer engineering, and hospitality management were among the most popular course preferences, indicating students are aware of in-demand fields. The findings can help colleges design new programs aligned with student interests and labor market needs.
