4. Project Scope Statement

Project Purpose / Business Justification Describe the business need this project addresses

OEVS offers the highest levels of transparency, control, security and efficiency of election processes. The proposed system
allows particular voter to cast the vote online with authentication using secured two factor authentication/ Biometric
verification to retrieve voter details.
1. Online voting has admin login which will be handled by election commission

4. Admin dashboard has overall functional rights - will allow voters to view a list of candidates in their area, voters
can get to know the candidates background details
5. Once the election is started voter have to login into the account, select a candidate and have to give face id with
webcam or front camera, if the face matches with the face given at the time of registration
6. Two-factor authentication/ Biometric verification, if successful then the vote will be submitted for one candidate
only once per election.

1. Increase voter turnout with convenient online voting from anywhere in India so the voter need not come to his/her

8. Online elections can also improve voter engagement. It can be easy for voters to feel disconnected from the
process of traditional voting. But with online voting, they can see the results in real-time, making them feel more
engaged in the process.

1. All 28 states and 8 Union territories with a total of 36 entities in the country will use the new OEVS.
2. Project will launch by August, 2022

OEVS is a boon over typical systems however it still has got to solve several hurdles before turning into fruition.
