Support Spring Calculations-11.10.17 For Cooling Tower Area

The document provides spring constants for single piles and pile groups of varying sizes. For a single pile, the horizontal spring constant is 0.18 T/mm and vertical spring constant is 4.167 T/mm. For a group of 2 piles, the horizontal, vertical, and rotational spring constants are provided. The spring constants scale based on the number of piles and their configuration. Formulas are given to calculate the spring constants for pile groups of up to 5 piles.

For Single Pile

Lateral Capacity of pile = 7.2 KN (for Static case and allowable deflection = 5 mm)

Therefore,
Horizontal spring value = 1.25 x0.72/5 = 0.18 T/mm
i.e. KFx = KFz = 0.18 T/mm

Whereas,
Vertical Pile capacity = 1.25 X 51 = 63.75 T (For 12 mm Vertical Settlment)
Vertical spring value = 63.75 / 12 = 5.3125 T/mm
