LESSON PLAN IN COMPUTER SYSTEM SERVICING

Installing and Configuring Computer Systems

I. LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of 3 sessions, the grade 11 students will be able to do the following with 60%
accuracy:
1. Select materials necessary to complete the work in accordance with established
procedures and check against system requirements;
2. Assemble computer hardware in accordance with established procedures and
system requirements; and
3. Perform BIOS configuration in accordance with hardware requirements.

III. TEACHING-LEARNING ACTIVITIES


A. Preparation
a. Preliminary Activities (Prayer, Greetings, Attendance Checking)
b. Motivation
 Show the students the different parts of the computer.
 Ask them if they will set up all the computer parts seen in the slide will
the computer work?
 Let a few students share their answer.
 Take note of the students’ answer

c. Introduction of the Topic and ILOs

B. Presentation
a. Activity:
 Students will be divided into 5 groups and allow them to select the
materials and computer parts that is needed to assemble a working
system unit.

b. Lesson Proper
 The teacher explains the following:
o Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
o Effects of Computers
o Basic Hardware Components of Computer System
o The System Unit and Its Components
o The Motherboard and Its Parts
 Demonstrate the procedures in the assembly of the computer system
while the students follow the process.

C. Performance
With the same groupings, the students on their own will assemble computer
hardware in accordance with established procedures and system requirements.

IV. ASSESSMENT

Utilizing the previous groupings, the teacher will let the students perform BIOS
configuration in accordance with hardware requirements following the procedures in
the given handouts.
