INTRODUCTION

positive changes in almost every field whether it’s medical, business, education, sports or any field you
look into. Particularly in most medical clinic facilities, it has made a big impact that enables modern
clinics to serve many patients as possible (Qualman, 2018).

method of managing patients’ records and prescriptions were moved into computer-based systems

In order to provide medical services, a private medical healthcare center employs a manual system.
Private medical Healthcare Management System is suggested to be used in the mentioned healthcare
facility in order to enhance their patient services. It is made with keeping and keeping track of patients'
medical information in mind. Paperwork and manual record keeping will be reduced as a result.
Consequently, it makes it easier for the doctor and staff to keep track of patients and treat more of
them.

Review of Related Literature According to, the Philippine health system is arranged in a
decentralized manner where the governing agency is the Department of Health (DOH) who was
mandated to provide national policy direction and develop national plans and guidelines when it comes
to health. Locally, the delivery of health care is the responsibility of provincial government from
municipal down to barangay' offices in order to deliver services to the community and individuals alike.
It only happens that in reality most of the people cannot afford to consult in hospitals that have an
expensive amount of medical fees stated in Complete Care Community Health Center (CCCHC) 2017.
Due to it, consulting in a health center becomes people’s demand. This is the time where health workers
are needed in terms of health promotion, providing disease prevention and managing of records; these
things are designed to improve the health and wellbeing of the local residents.

Over the past 30 years, there are various reforms that have been instituted to address the
poor's access to health. This is due to the fact that the utter volume and variety of health information
have caused problems in the delivery of patient care because they are easily misplaced; can cause
repeat diagnostics, delays in the planning of care and patient discharges. On the other hand, Artimodi
(2013) also explains, that there are limitations to the physical quality of the paper record. The paper is
fragile and does not last permanently. Normal use of the record may result in torn or stained
documents. Having understood these things inspire the proponents to make an automated system that
would be a help and become an instrument to lessen the burden of the health care personnel. To be
able to use the greatest possible performance and services that is within the proponent’s strength and
understanding.

A developed web-based health management system for the said recipient was a solution to aid
the existing process; it doesn’t mean that applying automation to the manual process will get rid of the
need for human care. Proponents believe that having this study, both main health center and its
corresponding health centers can have reached out to more patients in a more efficient way, cutting
necessary things like paperwork. As a support, Infinit Healthcare (2015) explained that the goal is to
have automation inserted into operations and workflows to make health care delivery faster, more
efficient and improve health care professionals’ productivity.

A Framework for Developing a Maternal Health Informatics System for an Urban City in the

be sufficient health care to prevent and manage those complications and illness. Maternal Health

hasn’t, considering that not all patients in the community have these devices. However, both systems
make sure that manual tallying and compiling will be replaced with auto-generated reports. The
community Health Officer will be able to focus on creating solutions out of the problems seen in the
reports and in the statistics. This can be done by producing health programs on the respective
communities.

Private Management Information System for Cities and Municipalities in the Philippines

The Private Management Information System for Cities and Municipalities in the Philippines is a
program which contains features that records and manages information and at the same time can send
documents from barangay hall to the city hall. Base on the Barangay Management Information System
for San Carlos City is an online and offline system to keep, process, retrieve and update Barangay and
City Hall information through a secure network interface. It is designed to handle a wide-range of
information relating to barangay profile, constituents’ profile, barangay clearances, barangay
disputes/cases, barangay activities, and barangay legislation and City Hall’s required reports from the
barangay. It covers all the functions, activities and transactions of the barangay which aims to provide
complete and accurate information for the barangay and city hall management and stakeholders. The
study was the solution to the problems stated and to enhance the quality of service a barangay office
offers to its clients (Soriano et. al, 2018).

Computer-based information operates through the use of software that can offer information
services for an institution or organization. It is powerful and convenient builder for simultaneous growth
in society and industries. An information service provides a way to electronically access, retrieve, and
transmit that information.

Furthermore, this serves as an awakening factor for all government offices, from highest to
lowest levels, to be in line with the government’s view of globalization and competitiveness in today’s

Barangay Health Center Information System

It will increase the performance of medical personnel through its system generated
consultation. To help the health center of Barangay Dian-ay continually do their mission, vision, and
goals through providing their services fully hearted to the Patient/Community of the Barangay Dian-ay
for the medication/treatments. (Allura, n.d.)

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The proposed Barangay Health Management System Heath Center, it will be beneficial for the following:

Private Health Worker. The staffs can benefit a lot from this study as they are integral part of the whole
clinic management.

Clinic. The proposed system will automate every clinic task and can help maximize time spent with
patients thereby providing better service to the community.

Doctor. The proposed system will make it easier for the head nurse to manage the clinic and it would be
convenient when it comes to retrieving patient health records.

Patients. It will provide better service for the patients and their community.

Researchers. The researchers have developed their writing, analysis and skills in making a good thesis
that can help in improving our community as a whole.

Future Researcher. This will benefit other researchers who wish to have similar studies. The results will
serve as their background information in conducting their own research.
