People say that songs create a mood. Do you agree with that? Discuss with your
friends for 10 minutes, any songs that can affect your feelings and then you can
classify them whether into feelings of sadness, joy, fear, and gratitude.

C. GENERIC STRUCTURE
o Intro
The first generic structure is the Intro or the introduction is the first part of a song or it can
also be said as an introduction. Intros also serve to provide time for singers and listeners to
prepare before the song is actually played. Intros are also used for melodies, harmonics, or
rhythms.
o Verse
Verse is a part of a song, as a song at the beginning before entering the bridge or chorus. This
section tells the story of the song and there are usually two or three stanzas in a song.
o Chorus or Refrain
Basically the chorus and the chorus are different, the similarity between the two is as a part
that contains the main message / core of the story presented through song lyrics. This section
is the most frequently repeated because of the summary where the story of the song is.
o Bridge
Usually the bridge is used to bridge between parts of the song. For example, bridging the
chorus with the verse or vice versa. The notes played on this bridge are usually made very
different from the notes in the verse and chorus, so that this section suddenly changes the
tempo, volume, or instrumentation but doesn't sound out of place.
o Coda or Outro
The coda or outro is the final part of the song. The contents, take some of the lyrics and notes
that existed before or repeat the intro, chorus or just refrain from using a musical instrument.
