4.2 G100C RAD software SET-UP instruction

After the hardware connections indicated in the previous paragraphs, it's

necessary to proceed with a software configuration of the generator that
includes the information about the installed X-ray tube (that has to be
calibrated) and the data about the room configuration that must
correspond to the hardware connections (receptor set-up).

4.2.1 Tube selection

Prior to beginning the X-ray tube calibration, the tube used in

installation must be properly selected and the generator limits has to be
programmed.

4.2.1.1 X-ray tube present in library

If the X-ray tube used in the installation is present in the library of the
generator refer to the G100C RAD Service Manual, chapter 3C
"Interfacing and Programming" in order to record all the necessary
information to program the generator set-up.
The configuration of the starter board it is requested too. Refer to the
G100C RAD Service Manual, chapter 2.7.0 "Low speed starter tube
compatibility" to record the necessary information to complete the
configuration.

NOTE:
The tube library, concerning the I.A.E. X-ray tubes, contains only high
speed tube types. When a low speed I.A.E. X-ray tube has to be installed,
an high speed tube must be selected in the library, but it’s necessary to
force the generator to use only the low speed tube (see section 3C in the
Service Manual G100C RAD). The generator and the tube limits must be
set according with the tube type installed.

4.2.1.2 Loading X-ray tube data from GenWare® utility software

If the tube is not in the generator library, it can be found in a wider

selection available in the GenWare® Software. In order to use GenWare®
and upload the tube library, a serial communication connection must be
established between the generator and a laptop PC. Refer to G100C RAD
service manual, chapter 3C.12.0 "Data link" for details.

4.2.1.3 X-ray tube not present neither in library nor in GenWare® utility
software

If the X-ray tube used in the installation is not present neither in the
generator library nor in the GenWare® utility software a manual setting
of the tube and generator parameters is required. Before changing these
parameters is strictly recommended to consult the data sheet of the
X-ray tube that is going to be installed. An X-ray tube present in the
library or in the GenWare® utility software, as similar as possible to the
one is going to be installed, can be selected. The tube and the generator
parameter required in the generator set-up must be set in according with
the information recorded from the data sheet of the X-ray tube. Refer to
the G100C RAD Service Manual, chapter 3C.7.1 "Tube selection” and
3C.7.2 “Generator limits" in order to record all the necessary information

4.3 VDX connection to electric Power Supply

VDX 4343TS / VDX 3543TC / VDX 3543 PW systems are set up for a
nominal power supply voltage of 230 V - 50/60 Hz.

The VDX 4343TS/VDX 3543TC / VDX 3543 PW system power supply is

not taken from the radiological table, nor from the X-ray generator, but it
is taken directly from an uninterruptible power supply source.

The VDX 4343TS/VDX 3543TC / VDX 3543 PW can be equipped with an

UPS with Output Power Capacity 540 Watts / 900 VA providing
uninterruptible power supply to the following components:
• Personal computer
• Monitor
• Synchronization and Control Box

VDX 4343TS/VDX 3543TC require a second permanent 230V mains

dedicated to the FPD power directly supplied by the room electrical
cabinet.

The suggested configuration assures a constant operating quality; the

detector reaches the optimum operating conditions at thermal
equilibrium, it is therefore advisable to keep it powered on during times
out of work (even night, if possible).
In case of power supply interruption, the UPS can avoid loss of data
during the image transfer and matching with exam data.

The VDX 4343TS / VDX 3543TC / VDX 3543PW systems cables are
usually 15 m long, in order to connect the operative console in protected
