Thank for your letter. I’m writing to tell you somethings you’re wondered.
New York City has a subtropical climate, with cold winters and hot, moist summers. This
time is Spring so It’s quite warm. You should bring more jacket, jeans and T-shirt with.
My house is not far from your college so don’t worry. It takes about 10 kilometers and haft
an hour driving.
Transport in New York is convenient, easy for foreigners to use. If you don’t like driving car,
you can get bus, trailway to your college everyday.
As you know New York is a developing city with music, movie, … People is very nice, open-
minded. So I think you’ll adapt early to the new environment and have an interesting course
here.
I’m looking forward to meeting you in NewYork soon.

Celebrities always receive the attention from the audiences from different
regions in the world. The fans try to find as much information about their idols
as possible. Some people think that media should have right to publish the
private information of the famous people. Others argue have right to protect
their private life and media must be controlled for that action.

In recent years, … has become a broad issue to the general public. Some
people believe that …. Howerver, others think that….. In my opinion, I agree
with the former/latter idea. Discussed below are several reasons supporting
my perpective.

The first topic I’ll speak is about uniform.
Yes, we have to wear uniforms at work. It is blue white stripe with a blue
bird wing icon and very comfortable.
I really love to uniforms of my company. I put on it eveyday. Although we
only required to wear on Monday.
For me, Wearring uniforms has many many benefits. It can distinguish of
different companies and organizations, also encourage employees in
company to cooperate, work hard together. Uniform is a way to promote, PR
the brand, the name of the companies. uniforms make us feel, look and act
professional. Specially, we don’t worry what we will wear each day.
Not every one love wearing uniform because it has some drawback For
example: a person would like to wear clothes that are suitable for her, made
of comfortable material. People will be bored with their working atmosphere

Uniform helps the workers bring a sense of identity within the company and the

would lead to a feeling of team spirit, and make the employees feel that they are a part of

For the better part of the last 2 years, I’ve been living in a small house in a
small street in Cau Giay District with my sisters. all facilities and services are
available, like supermarkets, restaurants, fashion stores, cinemas or hospitals. I
can easily grab anything I need in just a few minutes. It only takes 20 minutes
and about 5 kilometer from my flat to my office.
My flat is not large but it has very comfortable and cozy with 1 living room
where my family spend times spend time chatting together with each other.
More over it has 2 bed rooms, 1 for me, 1 for my sisters, 1 kitchen and 1
bathroom.
Which I like most Definitely my own bedroom. It’s the personal space where I
can do whatever I want without caring about anyone. Besides, my bedroom is
an ideal place for me to avoid noise, so I tend to lock myself up in my bedroom
whenever I need to concentrate on something.
I’ve been living with 3 of my childhood friends. Our hometown is quite far from the colleges
we go to. Therefore, 4 years back, we decided to rent this mini flat to facilitate our study.
Well, the flat is not really roomy, but it’s just right for us. It is styled in a minimal way. All
the walls are painted plain white. All the rooms have big windows with bright curtains adding
a decorative touch to them. The interior design is simple, yet convenient.

I love my living room! I'm sure a lot of people say that, but I feel like my living room is the ideal
space. I spend time with family and friends there. , have my trinkets and mementos on shelves,
and at the end of the day I get to relax on the couch with family and watch television we all
enjoy. No matter where I am, I'm always aware that at the end of a long day I can look forward to
ending it on a high note in my living room.

I live in a flat in a 25-storey apartment building with my family. I enjoy

my life there, because all facilities and services are available within
walking distance, which means I can easily grab anything I need in just a
few minutes.

2. What is your favorite room in your home? Why?

Definitely my own bedroom. It’s the personal space where I can do

whatever I want without getting scolded by my mom. Besides, my
bedroom is an ideal place for me to avoid noise, so I tend to lock myself
up in my bedroom whenever I need to concentrate on my study.

3. Would you change anything about your home? Why / why not?

Well, perhaps I would expand the dining area. It is the common space for
family members to gather, so I think it would be nice if my house’s dining
room could be a little more spacious.

4. Would you like to move to a different home in the future?

Although my current accommodation is perfectly fine, I would love to

experience living in a villa once. Since it was my childhood dream to have
a swimming pool and a garden of my own, a villa seems like an ideal
house for me.

5. How is your apartment decorated?

My home is styled in a minimal way. Almost everything is painted in plain

white, and a few landscape paintings act as a delicate touch. The interior
design is simple, but very pleasant to look at.

6. Do you plan to live there for a long time?

Answer 1: My answer would be yes. I have nothing to complain about

with my current accommodation. Everything is up to par, from the
neighbours to the vicinity to amenities. That’s why my family has no
intention of leaving this wonderful neighbourhood.

Answer 2: That was never my plan. Two years ago I decided to rent a
room here because my house was too far and it took me forever to get to
my office. But I only stay here for maybe 1 or 2 years more before I can
afford a house of my own.

6. Do you have a garden?

Unfortunately, no. There is not enough space for a garden in our flat, but
I would love to have one in the future. I think every household needs a
green space, not only because it is aesthetically pleasing, but also
because it is a good way to get in touch with the natural world.

7. Are there many amenities near your home?

My house is located in a residential complex, so everything is within
reach. There is a gym, a park, as well as a wide variety of shops, which
are more than enough to cater for all residents in my area.

8. Who do you live with?

I live with one of my coworkers, who was also my college friend. We

share the rent and other expenses like electricity and water, so it’s not
really expensive.

9. How long have you lived there?

I’ve been living here since 2016, so it’s 2 years more or less although I
did spend 6 months living in HCM city. I thought about moving
somewhere else, but living here is pretty great and fun. Besides it’s really
close to my office.

10. What’s the difference between where you are living now and
where you have lived in the past?

There’re quite a few differences. My parents’ house is huge with separate

rooms, each of which has its own bathroom so it’s really convenient and
private. However, my apartment right now is much smaller and I have to
share a bathroom with my roomate.

11. Which room does your family spend most of the time in?

Probably the kitchen where we eat together. Unlike other families in town,
we don’t watch TV very often, at least I don’t watch TV so we never sit
together in the living room. Dinner is the only time of day that we all sit
together and enjoy our meals.

12. Are the public transport facilities to your home very good?

Not even slightly! The bus stations are always crowded with people who
are really inappropriate and always talking out loud. The floors are so
dirty that I don’t even want to step inside a station.

13. Do you prefer living in a house or a flat?

Each type has some things to offer me but I would have to go for a
house. There’s usually more space, and the water supply is much more
reliable.

My room. It’s big to begin with. There’s a bookshelf attached to the wall
which is my favourite spot for reading. And you know what’s best? The
bathroom. I have my own bathroom in my own room.

I think the most difficult is speaking English. I can speak English but normally it not
correctly because i meet hard about word, grammar, structure and idioms...
English is same Vietnamese, it has much different words to talk about one topic.
Speaking is the most difficult. we can learn the grammar. and we can recognize the
pronunciation but when we try to speak we get nervous. Because we don´t sure about our
Speaking. We don´t sure about we can learn the correct pronunciation. I´ve could see that is
the principal problem to learn English..

For me living in the hostel As a hosteller is not under the care of his
family, he develops a sense of independence and self-reliance.

I had got this experience during my college days. When I was in 1st year, I was given 1
presentation exercise. This was critical moments for me. Then somehow I was able to
manage the awful situation. Presently I am confident enough to speak in front of
audience.
Honestly, at my first time of talking before an audience, I was very nervous. However, I
made sure I knew what I wanted to say and I felt confident in my knowledge that I could
answer any question that may arise.

In the event, I recall speaking and presenting. About half to two thirds of the way
through, the audience went quiet. Oh dear, I thought to myself, ‘ I have bored them.’ So I
rushed through the final part and quickly asked if there were any questions. There were
none, all I got was a fantastic round of applause.

What had happened is that what I interpreted as ‘boredom’ was in fact silent
amazement. They were really impressed with my work and my presentation but I had
misinterpreted this. I say this not to sing my own praises about my work but that the
experience helped me in future public speaking and presentations; it gave me that all
important belief in my ability

First of all I was tremendously nervous to speak out something before audience.
Honestly I was severing and forget everything. I want to speak but sounds are failed to
come out. I failed to make a better eye contact with audience . My voice was low in front
of them. Literally I was wondering and awaiting when I shall leave the stage. After
practicing infinity times I make myself stable enough.

The best way to overcome anxiety is to prepare, prepare, and

prepare some more. Take the time to go over your notes
several times
Create the framework for your speech. Write down the topic,
general purpose, specific purpose, central idea, and main
points. Make sure to grab the audience’s attention in the first 30
seconds.
Keep the focus on the audience. Gauge their reactions, adjust
your message, and stay flexible. Delivering a canned speech
will guarantee that you lose the attention of or confuse even the
most devoted listeners.
 Speak slowly, but not too slowly. Talk too fast and your audience will have a hard
time understanding you. Talk too slowly and you risk putting them to sleep. When it
comes to public speaking, talking at a conversational pace is your safest bet.
 Pause between ideas. Great public speakers often pause for two to three seconds or
even longer. A well-placed pause gives the audience time to digest what you are
saying. It also makes you sound more confident and in control.
 Avoid filler words. Words such as "um," "ah," "you know," and "like" diminish your
credibility and distract from your message. Instead, replace these filler words with
pauses.
 Carefully articulate and pronounce your words. A mumbling public speaker is
hard to understand.
 Acknowledge your audience as soon as you take the stage. This helps to make you
seem more like a "real" person and keeps a conversational tone.
 Grab their attention immediately. When you speak, you have about 60 seconds to
capture your audience's attention and captivate them before they tune out.2 Use this
time to ask a rhetorical thought-provoking question, tell a captivating story, or share a
shocking statistic—anything that will keep them intrigued.
 Find a friendly face. There's bound to be friendly people in the audience. Find those
people and pretend that you're speaking to only them.
 Make eye contact. Regardless of how big your audience is, try to make eye
contact with as many people as possible. It will make them feel like you are speaking
directly to them.

What do you and your family usually do during Tet holiday?
I think the most important one is the Tet Holiday, which is very
much like Christmas in the Western countries. It is on the first of
January according to the lunar calendar, it is a time when friends
and family members get together. And we have about ten days off.
We have many traditional festivals, but the major ones are, for
example, the Tet Holiday, the Moon Festival, May Day, and the
National Day. My favorite holiday is Tet Holiday, the Vietnamese
New Year. It comes on the first of January according to the lunar
calendar. On New Year’s Eve, children will get “lucky money” and
wear new clothes. They can do things the would not normally be
allowed to do. The Tet Holiday is always my favorite holiday
because there are no many activities and varieties of food. Like
Christmas in the Western countries, it’s the most important and
longest holiday we have, a good time for family reunion and
relaxation. We celebrate this holiday with a lot of different activities:
having a big feast, visiting our parents and friends to express our
goodwill, enjoying the flower festival, chatting with each other.
It’s a great time to relax and enjoy ourselves. But many people take
the opportunity to visit the places of interest in and outside Vietnam
We usually make square cakes, a typical food on New Year’s Day
in Vietnam. On the Tet Holiday, we have about ten days off. I often
visit my parents, friends, and relatives.
It is a kind of glutinous rice cake wrapped in banana leaves, in order
to honour our ancestor, King Hung, who himself made it to present
his respected father.
You want to improve your English Speaking skills. There are 3
possible choices: Joining an English class at a center, joining
an English club or talking to foreigners in public places. Which
is the best choice for you?
When considering one among three options: Joining an English class at a
center, joining an English club or talking to foreigners in public places. I believe
that is the best choice to get better my Speaking English skill for several
reasons.

First of all, An English Club is a place for language learners to use English in a
casual setting. Practising your skills in the classroom is important, but it is not
like real life. In the classroom, you often focus on one skill and one item (for
example: grammar - future tense). After learning the rules your teacher gives
you time to practise using the item. In an English Club, you get a chance to
practice many different skills in a setting that is more like real life. Though your
English teacher understands your English, your English Club friends will require
you to speak more clearly and listen more carefully. Starting an English Club is
also a great way to make new friendships. It is important to have good friends
because your confidence will increase if you speak more.
However, there are some reasons why I don’t choose the other options.
Participating in an Speaking English course is not my choice because After
learning the rules your teacher gives you time to practice using the item, so if
you have no time to speaking, you are easy to forgot what you were taught.
Besides, I don’t choose Talking to foreigners in public places since you know,
they are normally busy sightseeing and some of them are not willing to
speaking to us. Even when they are, we can only spend a few minutes chatting
on very limited topics like the weather, job and so on.

In short, I believe that taking part in an English club Is the best way for make
my English Skill better.
You have to weeks off before the final exam. What will you do? Revise for
exam, go on vacation with family, or go to your friend’s house for sleepovers
and parties.

When considering one among three options: Studying hard to prepare for
exam, travelling with my family or visting my friend house for sleep over and
parties if we have to I believe that ….is the best choice ……. for several reasons.

In my opinion, I think that the legal drinking age. In vietnam, A person under 18
years old is banned drinking.

At which age should childen have their own decisions?

From my point of view, I think that A child is ready to make their own decisions at 18 years
old. Developmentally, a parent should let their child make age-appropriate decisions as they
demonstrate capacity, judgment, and maturity

People can go to visit many different places in hanoi such as: Hoan kiem lake, ha noi old
quarter, Dong xuan market, west lake, tempel of literature and so on. Hoan Kiem lake
represented the spiritual heart of the city, reminds Vietnamese people of a legendary story about
the name Hoan Kiem, and reminds the traditional education and the dedication of General Tran
Hung Dao.

In this modern life personal computers are beneficial in a number of ways

Some people believe that computers help our life more easier, more useful and more convenient lives
for them

Some people believe that computers provide easier and more convenient lives for them. In their
opinion, computers help them surf Internet and share information. They may communicate directly by
E. mail. But others hold that computers have made life more complex and stressful and they point out
that computers bring many bad effects to human beings, such as information security problem
because of hacking attack and environmental pollution because of irradiation. As far as I concerned, I
prefer the first opinion rather than the second view.  
My opinion comes from following three aspects. First of all, computer made life more efficient than
before. For example, people might access websites, gain a lot of valuable information and contact
each other around the world. Secondly, computer made life more relax and easier. Computers provide
variety kinds of games and people could enjoy and relax from them everyday. Finally, compute help
people solve many complicated problem by software, such as investment and finance. Therefore,
people`s life becomes more simple and convenient.  
However, just as what other people say that computers give us some negative effects in the
meantime. For example, Irradiation does harm for our bodies and eyes, so we cannot make people
seat too long in front of computers. Hacking is a really trouble, and we are supposed to enhance
computer control and technology.  

In general, computers give people an easier and convenient life. Although there exists some bad
effects of computers as mentioned above. We are supposed to do our best to solve the problems and
pay more attention on their good effects. I believe that our society will benefit more from them in the
future.
1. PC can be used for multiple recreational activities. It can be used for playing games,
watching movies, listening to songs, recording voice, drawing via online tools and much
more. It can be used as an all-in-one machine and reduce the cost of buying specific
electronic devices like DVD player, music system, etc. I use the PC for doing all the things
mentioned above.

2. My PC can drastically increase the speed of my work for any projects, assignments and
homework. I can use the PC for calculations using excel, for creating charts using Visio,
preparing presentations using PowerPoint, etc. I also use the PC for preparing a list of
household tasks to be completed. Within few minutes, I can make a list of daily chores at a
much faster speed. I use Microsoft word, Microsoft excel to make a number of documents
required for daily activities. There is lot of information available on the internet and a wide
range of formats, guides and software in the PC to help individuals like me to work faster. As
lot of my time is saved by using a PC, I can focus on making pocket money in this time.

3. My PC can help me stay connected with my dear ones. A PC can reduce the cost for
communication considerably. I stay connected to my friends, family and classmates through
e-mails, phone calls via PC, Facebook, and Skype etc. I need to have internet for calling via
PC but I need internet for many things else and therefore, I use my PC for communication. A
PC helps me to make international video calling through skype and other software and thus I
can stay connected with my parents and relatives in India at low cost.

4. Using my PC reduces the errors incurred otherwise when I do calculations...
