How to Pull Reports from ICMS to Excel: NISI 1 Version

1. If you need to create or upload a template from a disk, see “How to Create and Upload Templates to ICMS”
guide.
2. Make sure you are on the Server so you can access the W Drive and ICMS.
3. Open ReDiscovery (ICMS).
4. Open the W Drive: NISI: NISI 1: Collection Catalogs: ICMS Catalog Records: Pulled Reports.
5. In ICMS
a. Open “Collections”
b. Choose which one you need to export.
c. Open “Catalog Records”
d. Click “File”
i. “Import/Export”
1. “Import/Export Selected Folders”
a. “Import/Export Selected Folders” (again)
e. Import/Export Records Window: Click the “Export Records” button
i. Click “Next”
f. Select a Template Window: Click the “Open an existing template” button
i. Click “Next”
ii. Click the “Show all Templates” button
1. Make sure the template you want is highlighted (double click to ensure).
a. We should be using ARIMPORTS for everything.
2. Click “Next”
g. Export Records Output Window
i. File Type: Choose “ASCII Delimited”
ii. Export File: Click “Browse”
h. Make sure you go to the W Drive: NISI: NISI 1: Collection Catalogs: ICMS Catalog Records:
Pulled Reports folder that displays all the collections of NISI
i. Choose the collection folder that matches that which you are trying to export from ICMS
ii. Once there, name the “File Name” as:
1. “Access Exports [insert collection number here]”
2. Click “Open”
i. Click “Next” once back to ICMS
j. Export Text Wizard Window
i. Field Delimiter: CLick the “Tab” button
ii. Click “Next”
k. Export Process Reporting Window
i. Click “Start Export”
ii. Once complete, click “Okay”
iii. Click “Finish” to close the window
6. NISI - NISI 1 - Collection Catalogs - ICMS Catalog Records File Folder
a. Go to the folder you just placed your export in
b. Double click on the file you just created (a text document)
c. Click “Control-A” on your keyboard to select all
d. Click “Control-C” on your keyboard to copy your selection
e. Exit out of the text document
f. Back in the File Folder
i. Right click and choose “New” then “Microsoft Excel Worksheet”
ii. Right click on the worksheet you just created “New Microsoft Excel Worksheet” and
click “Rename”
iii. Rename “Access_Database_Exports_[insert collection number here]”
7. Open the workbook you just created.
a. Enable editing.
b. “Control-V” on your keyboard to paste what you previously copied from the text file.
c. Resize the columns to show the entire field (double-click the right-most edge of the top of each
column).
d. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE!
e. KEEP DETAILED NOTES OF WHAT YOU COMPLETE!
8. You are done :)
9. Continue this process for all directories.
