3.2 Control box

The manual mainly introduces content about IRIS2 NV elevator maintenance
work only. Therefore, the manual does not include detailed technology details,
please refer to AS380 control box manual.

Notice

 When check the control box, cut off the power supply; after
performing Lock Out /Tag Out, conduct work.
 Please determine whether plastic cap is covered on the terminal.
If cap is not covered on its top, please make cap cover the top.
 If power supply is 220V or 380V, please affix marking label to
make others take care.
 If PCB is applied, it should be avoided that PCB is scratched by
protruded pin at back.
 If IRIS2_NV elevator is applied, after cutting off power supply,
smoothing condenser is still in charging state; therefore, please
determine whether DC voltage on rectification capacitor two ends
conduct working after discharging completely.

(1) Working overview

Resistance property of insulator is insulation. Measure property of this insulation
to prevent electric shock accident and defective insulation to protect apparatus
and avoid safety accident coursed by abnormal action of elevator.
(2) Electric shock preventing
1) DC voltage straightly through rectification main circuit of frequency converter,
even though the MCCB is turned off, voltage charged by the capacitor can not
be discharged completely at once. Thus, please pay much attention to safety
issue. And capacitor (electrolytic capacitor) connects with main circuit, even
though the MCCB is turned off, voltage charged by the capacitor can not be
discharged completely and immediately. Therefore, please adopt tester to
determine whether DC voltage is 0~10VDC before working.
2) Please must implement insulation test before measuring the insulation to
prevent PCB from being damaged.

There are semiconductor elements used in the circuit, therefore, elements

will be damaged if integrated circuit is earthed. Thus, please adopt
insulation resistance tester (generation voltage 15V) or digital integrated
electricity meter to conduct insulation test on all connector terminal in the
control box.
(3) Please determine status control box earthing.
(4) For detailed insulation measuring methods, please refer to “Sigma Elevator Test-
Run Adjust Manual”.
