Learners will identify the different parts of Microsoft Word window.
Integration in TLE by discussing the parts of Microsoft Word window
Vocabulary:
1. Productivity Tools -also known as productivity software are software that people use
to create and produce professional quality documents, presentations, databases,
charts, graphs, and more.
2. Mail Merge - is a word processing feature that allows you to easily create multiple
letters, labels, envelopes, nametags, or catalogue documents to group of people as
stored in a list in a database or spreadsheet.
3. Main document – the letter which contain the email information for each of the
merged document that can be letter, stationary or template. It also contains the field
names which contains the instructions for carrying out the merge.
4. Data source – it is also called data file which comprises the information to be merged
into a document such as the list of names and addresses to be used in a mail merge.
This must be connected to the data source before it can use the information in it.
5. Merge document – this is also a word processing document that is the generated
output after executing the merge process.

Problem: Mrs. Adnha P. Timagos, the school principal of MNHS, has asked you to send an
orientation letter announcement for the progressive limited face-to-face classes.
1. Create a folder in your desktop called “MNHS Mail Merge.” Save all files created in
this activity into this folder.
2. Start with a blank file and save it with the filename “MNHS Letter.” When you are
working always Save your work as often as you can.
3. Before doing anything, use A4 paper size. Select “1.15 Line and Paragraph Spacing.”
Font style should be Arial size 12. Margins should be at 1-inch all sides.
4. Create the data file or the recipients from the table below. Save the data file with the
name MNHS stakeholders. Save the file into the folder in Step 1.

DIRECTIONS: Choose only one from the three options given below for your task. Apply
your knowledge in using mail merge. The output will be rated according to the
specifications stated in the rubric.
Option 1 - Design your business card and print multiple copies applying the
concept of mail merge.
Option 2 - Write an invitation letter for your 18 th birthday to your friends
applying the concept of mail merge and send to at least 20 recipients.
Option 3 - Create a solicitation letter for the Annual Basketball Tournament in
your place applying mail merge and to be sent to at least 10 recipients.
