APPLICATION

1. State five characteristics of human development from a life-span perspective and their
implications to child care, education and parenting.

Characteristics of Human Development from a Educational implication to Child Care,

life-span perspective Education and Parenting
1. Development is life-long. This characteristics of life-span perspective
implies that development occurs even until
our last breath. In child-care, an individual in
its childhood is mostly a curious one, this
curiosity is brought until its education starts.
As children grow, their education leads them
to development, even until they are in
parenthood. Development occurs as long as
a person lives.
2. Development is plastic. This characteristics of life-span perspective
implies the changes occurs in development.
In child-care, children undergo drastic
changes, and of course that includes their
needs. Those needs must be provided for a
child’s welfare. In education, learning means
being subjected to change. However small
the change is, development takes place, so
regardless of age, changes through
development occurs. With that said,
education should not be discriminating. In
parenting, improvement due to any
deliberate effort to help parents to be more
effective in caring for children is
development. As the child grows, one’s
parenting style should develop and match
with the child’s needs.
3. Development is multidimensional Development is not done by one person
alone in one night. It has some reason or
may be influenced by friends, watched
movies, books read or heard stories, and
always remember that developing takes
time. When a person studies at school, he or
she will find many differences in perspective
or lifestyle thru his or her classmates,
friends, and even teachers. It can motivate
change or development if he becomes
accustomed to it. Development of a child's
knowledge, thinking, perspectives, and
interactions with others expand when he or
she is with someone at home or at school.
4. Development is contextual In terms of child care and parenting,
development depends on the environment
in which you live, grow, and trained. An
example of this is the other families who live
in the province. These individuals are
somehow far from living full of technology.
During their leisure, they prefer to go to
places where they can relax rather than use
gadgets all day or do nothing. Some families
in the city are more accustomed to living in a
world where they're somehow always
connected to social media. It shows that
their habits and care are not the same. From
my point of view, they can develop in places
where they are used to live because their
environment has a huge impact. One day
they will see the world is wider than the
world they once lived. People will also be
able to use it, slowly develop, and achieve
how the real world revolves.
5. Development involves growth, Development is a step-by-step process. As
maintenance, and regulation we get older, we become more
knowledgeable and always practice it so that
we do not forget. We do it regularly without
us knowing it. When we notice that we still
have things to learn, we apply it to
ourselves. Just like in school, when we start
our first class when we are kids, we are
taught to read that we carry it until we grow
old. People maintain this knowledge that
increases every day.
Here are pictures of seven-year old Naschielle and three-year old Kenn. Each one is a bundle of
possibilities. Describe what they were before birth (their point of origin) and who they will possibly be
after birth unto adulthood. What they will possibly become? Expound your answers.

Answers:

As I have seen the picture of a seven-year old girl whose name Naschielle, her
point of origin would probably came to a well-better family which she can get everything she
want that her parents could grant it maybe because her parents have stable job or came from a
better living. The fact that she is very happy in the picture showing the smile while achieving
what she wants. She may be able to achieve her goal as a flight attendant or bank teller one day
since they are financially stable. She may have an appropriate behaviour when her parents raise
her on how to be a good individual and how to deal with other person.

While the three-year old Kenn, I could say that this young boy came from a not so well-off life
but his parents might pursuing everything just to give the better future or life to him. I can see
that this kid would fight for life’s challenges to be able to achieve his goal in order to help his
parents need. This you boy might become a successful policeman someday.
